I Know that my Savior Loves Me

For the next few weeks I am subbing in Primary as the Music Chorister and will be teaching the children songs about the Holy Ghost.  As we prepare for the Sacrament Meeting Program, we will review all of the songs the children have learned this past year.  One of the songs was new to me and so I have spent some time this week learning it.

I was absolutely inspired by the simple beauty of this song and wanted to share it.

Here is the text:

Chorus
I know he lives!
I will follow faithfully.
My heart I give to Him.
I know that my Savior loves me.

Singing the chorus gives you a chance to bear testimony of Jesus Christ.

Then

Verse 1
A long time ago in a beautiful place,
Children were gathered ’round Jesus.
He blessed and taught as they felt of His love.
Each saw the tears on His face.
The love that He felt for His little ones
I know He feels for me.
I did not touch Him or sit on His knee,
Yet, Jesus is real to me.

Now

Verse 2
Now I am here in a beautiful place,
Learning the teachings of Jesus.
Parents and teachers will help guide the way,
Lighting my path ev’ry day.
Wrapped in the arms of my Savior’s love,
I feel His gentle touch.
Living each day, I will follow His way,
Home to my Father above.

The Video

When I googled the name of this song I found several blog posts from primary choristers who had already taught the song and they were also very helpful.  I’m really excited to work with the children for these next few weeks.

We are also working on this song, The Holy Ghost
