Iraq war is over

I read a few reports yesterday about the Iraq war being effectively over and noticed how little media coverage it garnered.

I’m not any sort of military analyst or expert, and I don’t have any friends or family serving right now.  I’m just a sister and a friend to two soldiers who served, and because of them my interest in this war was greater than if I had not had any family or friends involved.

When my brother was serving during the early years of the war, he would send weekly email updates to the whole family, and once he expressed how he believed that the good things that were happening in Iraq were not being reported.  I wanted to do something to support him, and so I went looking for an organization that I could affiliate with in order to stand up for him here at home.

I did some research and found Free Republic.  The patriots on that site were some of the finest I had ever met and I was thrilled to be associated with those who were determined that what happened to our vets during and after Viet Nam, did not happen to this generation of soldiers.  I attended my first pro war event – a counter demo in Longmont Colorado – to stand up to a group of peaceniks who had organized an Anti War Rally the very day I joined Free Republic.

From that day to this, I have never wavered in my support of President Bush, Our Troops, and the Mission they were engaged in.  As a confirmed Neo Con my position was and is that those of us in the west have a sacred responsibility to help those in our world who want to create constitutional/rule of law Democracy and that it is completely appropriate to use military force to help them, especially when the tyrants ruling them are messing with Americans.

For me the darkest days were those just before the Surge during the summer of 2007.  Politicians like Harry Reid were claiming the war was lost, and everyone was wondering what was going to happen.

I remember crying one night thinking about so many courageous families in Iraq who had put everything on the line to stand with the American Troops.  I knew that if we pulled out, most or all of them would be murdered.  It was about this time that Mel Morgan and Friends organized the first nationwide  Move America Forward Caravan to support President Bush as the Surge was being planned.

One only has to consider the killing fields of Cambodia and Viet Nam and the millions of lives lost or ruined because America came home too early when thinking of how it could have gone had we cut and run from our friends in Iraq during the summer of 2007.

How wonderful that instead of frantically evacuating embassies and pulling troops, our Marines will leave quietly having handed the bulk of security to Iraqis.  The absolute pride and sense of wonder at what these brave men and women have accomplished just overwhelms my heart, and coming on the heels of such amazing political reversals this past week as the people spoke in Mass, I like to believe the tide has turned in terms of what direction we are going to take as a world.

Will we live free?

That has been the question in my mind ever since it dawned on me that Barack Obama was a Marxist.

Will we bow down to World Government Tyrants who want to collectivize everything and murder and sterilize as many people as they can get control over?  The climategate scandal, the H1N1 Fraud being investigated by the EU, and the Mass Senate Special election are all unexpected and MOST WELCOME developments in the fights raging around how we will live and who gets to be in charge of making life or death decisions for individuals, families, and nations.

Since I first put pen to paper ten years ago, the constant theme of my message has been Family Sovereignty and Freedom.  And although that at times has meant odd affiliations and becoming friends with people who were out of my cloistered mormon mommy existence, I am so grateful for the many friends made during these years of activism and writing.  I believe we have all made a difference, especially this past year at the teaparties, and I just want to burst with joy, hope, and love for the American Experiment.

We will have to fight many battles in the years to come, but I believe the battles of the past three years have set our world on a course towards Freedom and I just feel lucky to have been able to watch, write, and participate a little bit.

Let FREEDOM ring!

Newsbusters: Obama-Loving Spammer ‘Ellie Light’ Dupes 42 Newspapers

I’m wondering if anyone has checked the IP address on Michelle Obamas lap Top…

“In January, an anonymous person supposedly named “Ellie Light” launched a massive PR campaign on behalf of President Barack Obama. The goal appears to have been to infiltrate as many newspapers as possible to spread pro-Obama propaganda — as if the press needed the help.

Light’s plan was simple enough: write a compelling letter to the editor, pretend to be a concerned reader in the region, and persuade the paper to print her liberal blather.

For three weeks, editors of mainstream newspapers big and small allowed Light to spread Democrat talking points under the guise of small-town grassroots without anyone bothering to double check her story.”

Patterico has the complete list of newspapers that were duped.

I Endorse Brian T. Campbell Sr. for the US Senate

The Brian T Campbell Sr. Family

The Platform of Brian Thomas Campbell, Sr.

Brian on Facebook

I first talked to Brian on the phone about a year ago as he was planning the first Denver Tea Party.

I offered to help him organize it and ended up singing the National Anthem and giving a quick address to the crowd about “Going Galt”.

A few months later we organized the Tax Day Tea Party in my home and Brian, his wife Angela, and two of their children came over for lunch while we talked about how best to organize the event.  While this wonderful family was in my home, I was able to get a sense of who they were.  As people of Faith it was obvious to me that they had a sincere commitment to their religion and I was impressed that Angela was homeschooling her five children.

At the Teaparty, which was a smashing success, Brian showed great leadership as he attempted to pull together the many voices yammering for who should speak and what should be the tone of the event.  Although I felt that too many politicians had been invited to speak, the overall message was one of Freedom and Fiscal Responsibility by our elected leaders and that message was one I completely endorse.

I have read through Brians complete platform on his blog and agree with just about everything outlined.  I believe he will bring a fresh perspective and new energy to the American Senate and I am happy to support him in this campaign.

One portion of our conversation that has stayed with me for this past year was when we were talking about our generation of Americans.  He pointed out to me that forty somethings in our country don’t have any particular moniker.  We aren’t “Boomers” or Generation X or Y, we are that group of people born in the late sixties and early seventies who are all in the thick of it with our businesses and families, who don’t really have any sort of identity or particular function as a group of American Citizens.

Brian expressed to me his belief that our generation should be the one that restored Constitutional Government to the United States, and that we had a special charge to expose the Marxism that was ruining everything wherever it showed up in our society.

I told him I could not agree more.

As we continued to talk he told me that he was born in Cook County hospital in Chicago during the Chicago riots, literally the riots were taking place while his Mother gave birth to him.

I laughed and told him that I had been born in Detroit in 68 a few months after the Detroit riots.  Both of us had been spoon fed Socialism during our Public Education and had completely rejected it.

I don’t know how many of us involved in the Colorado Teaparty movement have felt “called” as Brian and I have to help restore Constitutional Principles and smash the Creeping Socialistic State, but it would seem to me that if our generation of forty something Americans really want to leave a legacy for our children and grandchildren, the place to begin is in electing someone like Brian to the Senate of the United States Congress.

I suspect he will hit the Senate like a small tornado of new energy, enthusiasm, and effectiveness.
