thoughts from a Mormon Mommy Blogger…

When I began writing this blog in 2005, I spent a few weeks writing an Introduction, (click here to read) before it was set up, so that those of you who do not know me could have a chance to learn a little more about my writing style and goals for the blog.

I did not want anyone to be in the dark about my long term agendas for this endeavor.

Some things have changed for me politically in the past four years. I have steadily been moving from the Neo Con Camp to the Libertarian side of the political spectrum as world events have played out.

imageI am still a fierce Constitutionalist and lover of freedom, but as a confirmed news junkie, my sources for information have gradually shifted from all of the top conservative writers and thinkers (whom I still read), to include daily visits to web sites that have been written by writers from all over the political spectrum.

I particularly love reading posts by the acutely austere, ruminative, and earnest authors as typified by those written by Dave Berg at Iowahawk and Tamn at Seriously, SO Blessed.

The observant policy analysis from such great thinkers coupled with my pubescent pedagogy from Professor Berkeley Breathed (Ack! Bill the Cat for Prez…spit…hey…THPPPT!), of Bloom County Fame, leave me uniquely equipped to comment on all things Political.

My number one goal of the promotion of Homebirth has not changed, but has only grown more intense as the health care debate has played out this year. I believe Childbirth should be done in the home for the vast majority of Mothers on planet earth.

And in the coming years this goal will continue on.

I’m thinking about starting a blog talk radio show for Moms in the coming months and as always will share bits and pieces of good information for those Mothers who would like to walk down a different path than the one that has been sold to us by the media and the corporations who manipulate what we are taught.

If you would like to “get to know me better” please take a few minutes to read this intro.

It is still pretty much the way I wrote it in the summer of 2005.

Proof will have some special guests on his show next week! With Dr Rima Laibow & General Stubblebein on thursday night! Give it a listen…

Wanted for Genocide!

I’ll be on the Proof Negative radio show tonight at 8 PM to talk about the Protest and the H1N1 Vaccine.

(*UPDATE – My interview begins 20 minutes into the broadcast and lasts for about forty minutes. I’d like to thank him for having me on.  He was the only person in the Media besides Leonard Horowitz who was willing to do a pre-protest interview.  And I really appreciated having the chance to share!)

Note (Nov. 27th 9:30 am): Despite three weeks of Press Releases to the local and national media, no one has shown any interest in doing a story about the “Don’t Inject Me” Protest being held this morning in Denver.

Come Protest at the Capitol in Denver this friday! For more information on the Denver “Don’t Inject me!” Protest and Rally for Medical Freedom, Click on this link!

Pregnant Mothers are having miscarriages all over the nation after receiving the Vaccine.  Here is a link to an about comment thread with over 400 comments.

A few Testimonials:

sioux falls, south dakota says:

I received the H1N1 vaccine on October 16th and started experiencing cramping on the 22nd. I was nearly 17 weeks pregnant and gave birth to a stillborn baby boy on the 23rd. Like many of the other women here, the first thing I suspected was the H1N1 vaccine. I immediately asked a nurse at the hospital if that would have anything to do with it. Without hesitation, she told me “absolutely not.” I had reservations about getting the vaccine, but followed the advice of my long trusted family doctor. In a follow up appointment with my doctor 3 days after I lost my baby, I asked him if the vaccine would have had any adverse effects on my baby. He also said that it was not possible. I don’t believe that my doctor was necessarily lying to me, he was simply following the accepted practices and opinions of his field. I do, however, believe that as a nation, we are being lied to. This vaccine is NOT safe during pregnancy. There has not been enough testing done to determine this and there are far too many “coincidences” for this to be anything but a result of a vaccine that was hastily pushed into production and distribution in an effort to stop widespread panic. I have read so many stories in defense of the vaccine that will talk about how common miscarriages are, but I would challenge you to ask ANY health care professional how common second trimester miscarriages are.

My baby was doing perfect developmentally and I had felt him move earlier that day. My heart goes out to all of you out there who have had to go through the same heartache and loss that I have had in the last couple of weeks. There is no reason that any woman or family should have to go through this. Get the word out to all of the pregnant women that you know. I know that if I had heard that women had been losing their babies shortly after they received the vaccine, I would have followed my gut and not gotten it myself. Maybe then Wyatt would have had a chance at life.

I’m 7 months pregnant and had the vaccination 2 weeks ago, I am absolutely terrified after reading this.

EBWashington:

I am so upset. I was so excited to be pregnant after trying for a year. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I joined this birth club and I was due June 25th. We have two healthy boys with no history of miscarriage. Everything was going great. Last Monday, I got the H1N1 vaccine thimerosal reduced (mercury reduced for pregnant women). On Tuesday morning, I started cramping and on Wednesday I started bleeding heavily. My hcg was 50 on Wednesday and I was almost 6 weeks along so it was low. They still thought that I might be pregnant but on Friday my hcg was down to 22. I am an emotional wreck. I feel like I had a healthy baby and I caused this by getting the H1N1 vaccine. My doctors pushed it. I researched online and there have been many miscarriages after the H1N1 vaccine but they haven’t been reported since it is hard to say what caused the miscarriages. I hope that I did not cause this. I wish everyone the best.

Still thinking about getting a flu shot?

This is a heart breaking story from a friend of mine…..

Yes, tomorrow I will be protesting (with the consent of the mother who

I’m still waiting to hear back from) in memory of Wyatt James Ihnen.

The mother who received the vaccine is my best friend’s sister-in-law. I am extremely close to the family.

She went in to get the H1N1 shot and that same night started
experiencing cramps and the baby started kicking more than usual. She didn’t think anything of it at first, just thought that she was getting sick or something, but the next morning she still had cramps so she went to the hospital and Wyatt was stillborn (natural birth!). Wyatt was 17 weeks old and 7 inches long. The mother and child were healthy with no complications prior to the shot.

She and the father are having an extremely hard time with the death of their son. She feels like by baby Wyatt kicking he was trying to tell mommy,” Help me!” That thought haunts her…

The family performed a funeral and everything.

The Brewer Diet Plan

The Basic Plan

The following is reprinted and adapted from The Brewer Medical Diet for Normal and High-Risk Pregnancy, by Gail Sforza Brewer (Krebs) with Thomas Brewer, M.D., 1983 (p. 11).

See here for the Brewer Pregnancy Diet Basic Plan Weekly Record for printing and putting on your refrigerator

You must have, every day, at least the amounts of food and types of food on the following diet lists (minimum daily food intake). These foods are the best sources of key nutrients essential to healthy pregnancy. It is not healthful for you to go more than twelve hours without good food. Eat a complete breakfast every morning and snack midmorning, midafternoon, before bed, and at least once during the night to maintain a steady supply of nutrition to your developing baby. Consult your doctor, midwife, or nutritionist immediately if you start to fall behind on your diet for any reason. Inability to follow the diet is a medical emergency requiring prompt attention.

It is important to use the Brewer Diet’s recommendations for salt, calories, and protein all together. If you try to use lower amounts of salt or calories than is recommended by the Brewer Diet, and focus primarily on the protein, it is likely that the Brewer Diet will not be as effective for you as it could be.
