“The exact number of sex workers trafficked into the city for the DNCC would be impossible to calculate. But many metro area strip bars have already tripled their staff in preparation for the convention, said Stephanie Sharp, who has done outreach work with Denver prostitutes and works for the STD division of the Colorado Department of Public Health. “[The police] have a whole list of things they have to be concerned about as well, and prostitution and sex trafficking is not at the top,” Moon added.
State Rep. Alice Borodkin, D-Denver, who has worked to crack down on human trafficking the last three years, said the convention could be a good opportunity to make contact with prostitutes brought into Denver, but logistically any outreach effort would be complicated. “My personal feeling is that we need to do a lot more. I’m not 100 percent convinced that people understand what they’re looking at,” Borodkin said.
Sharp said ideally outreach groups will join forces to offer resources and options outside of prostitution to any trafficked-in women.”
I hope some of the people being brought into Denver by the Sex Trade will be able to get the help out that they need.

“Women in Denver typically enter prostitution at the age of 11 or 12, slightly younger than the national average, Sharp said.
To make matters worse, Denver is “almost completely pimp controlled” with pimps controlling almost all of the women who work as prostitutes through psychological manipulation and violence, Sharp said.
Of the 500 Denver prostitutes that Sharp has interviewed, she said only a handful worked for themselves.
Moon and Sharp gave their talk, Human Trafficking and Consumerism, Friday as part of the University of Denver’s Sexual Assault Awareness Week.
Human trafficking is a $44 billion a year industry, according to event organizers.

Joe and Jen just before he deployed to Iraq. Joe served in the first gulf war, and went to Iraq twice during this recent conflict before he died an untimely death last year.
He was a hero to our family long before the War started though. When our son Andrew was born in 1996, Joe was one of the first volunteer firemen to show up at our house after our home birth. Both Andy and I needed Emergency Transport and Joe ended up in the Ambulence with Andrew. He offered a prayer for our son that made an immediate difference in his vital signs as they traveled to the hospital. We will always love Joe for the hero he is.

Last night I was reading the 1st book of Nephi for my personal scripture study.
As I finished up the final chapter of the book, I came to this passage in Chapter 22.
It begins with Verse 13
“And the blood of that great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth, shall turn upon their own heads; for they shall war among themselves, and the sword of their own hands shall fall upon their own heads, and they shall be drunken with their own blood.”
I have long believed that the whore of all the earth is in fact the Medical Profession and the Big Pharma Companies. I wrote about this extensively in the Introduction to this Blog.
As I read this passage last night I had a witness from the Holy Spirit that the time is soon at hand when this verse will be fulfilled. That the whole profession was about to implode, be exposed as the evil that it is, and that the people of the earth were slowly going to wake up and realize how very badly they have been deceived by the conspiring men of the 20th century.
It actually made me happy to have this thought. As I have broken free of the snares that enslaved my body and mind my whole life, one of the main things that has made me sad has been to watch others, especially those I loved, who were also so enslaved, yet felt powerless to do anything about it.
My message, as always on this blog, is to say to all of you reading….YOU can break free, you can live the life you want and always dreamed of. You can be a happy wife and mother and bring healthy, beautiful babies into the world and still have enough energy left over at the end of the day to sing and dance and live life fully – abundantly, as the Savior said.
