Last night my friend Lynn and I went to hear her husbands band at the Dark Horse in Boulder.
This is my favorite way to hear live music, in a small venue, intimate, with really talented musicians.
My camera is a cheap one, so the pics and video play out rather badly, sorry to the guys in the band! But for those of you interested, especially those of you here in Colorado who would like to give this band a listen, they play all over the front range and in some of the better Mountain venues. I loved the various solos and the fact that the band did not limit itself to one style of music. I heard alot of jazzy music, with a great mix of blues, rock, and good old fashioned jamming.
I grew up in a home where my brothers were always practicing music with various jazz and rock bands they put together. We had the drum set, so practice was always at our house, and it was fun hearing the band and meeting the guys, all of whom are fathers with young children, they reminded me of the guys my brothers used to jam with.

Therefore he’s a loon, regardless of how blazingly intelligent you have to be to make a half billion dollars in this country. The American people aren’t going to buy this particular pig in this particular poke.”

As a Mormon I would like to challenge the punk and anyone else interested to go to the LDS web site and just spend some quality time looking at the Mormon Doctrine from the Mormon perspective rather than reading Anti-Mormon bigotry on the web.
Everything is covered on that site. It contains all copies of scripture, all documentation of General Conferences, all current events related to the church, everything we believe and teach right down to the lesson manuals for our littlest children in the nursery.
The only topics not covered are the sacred temple ordinances which we keep private from public view because of the holy and special nature of them. But for the curious, some of the topics covered in the temple endowment are outlined in our book of scripture The Pearl of Great Price, and here are a couple of links to talks that have been given which outline the temple ordinances in very general terms.

Hope this helps dispell some myths. I love my faith, and I testify to anyone reading that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is in fact Heavenly Fathers Kingdom on the earth and the Restored Church of Jesus Christ in Modern times. I have had a witness from the Holy Spirit time after time that this is true. It is the most important thing in my life and gives shape and meaning to everything I write about on this Blog and live in my day to day life.

I was not going to talk about the Edwards Blogger affair, because it is really ugly, but for those of you curious, here is Michelles Roundup of the story. If you have been on the net at all this past week, no doubt you heard something about a blogger fight around his campaign.

The John Edwards roundup of blogger reaction to Edwards picking a religious bigot as his Blog Mistress is the best I found on the web. Tread carefully though, you who are sensitive, lefty bloggers tend to spew the worst profanity laced ugliness I have ever witnessed in print. I suppose this is how the majority of them talk? Or at least participate on the internet.
I experienced this first hand on the Mothering Web site during the time I participated in the current events chat room around President Bushs second election. The profanity was disgusting, and the daily abuse of conservatives was applauded and defended by the moderators. I was told by the site moderator that Mothering was “concerned” about the way conservatives were being treated, but when I tried to write a post skewering the left the way many of them daily poked and prodded the righties on the board, I was permanently banned from the site.
Here is a link to the post that got me banned from Mothering. I was UCMom and if you go into the archives of the site, I’m still there with my name title BANNED! Leftists are really funny people. Tolerance and diversity is a religion to them, but they get very very uncomfortable around people who are politically different. I suppose it is because they know deep in their hearts that socialism and collectivism leads to slavery, but they are so die hard devoted to their world view that to consider they are wrong is simply unthinkable.
Anyway, being a part of that chat room was a total education. I really enjoyed getting to know the other conservative parents though and rub shoulders with other crunchy cons.
