I registered two Domains with WordPress at a cost of fifteen bucks each. WWW.BlogMomMag.com and WWW.BloggingMothersMagazine.com.

Then I spent a buck, well 99 cents, on I-Tunes purchasing Salme Dahlstroms amazing song Thinking About it….Baby as the theme music for the Radio Show and our You Tubes.

Thirty one bucks for an online magazine?

How?

Well, add in fifteen years of online chat room street fighting and a smattering of html skill, as well as countless hours spent blogging, learning how to master new media tools like audio, video, and radio, and the willingness to just take a running leap and do a cannon ball into the Digital Pool, and whammo, you have an online magazine for moms.

Almost all online digital sites from WordPress to You Tube are free.

Granted many of the sites like Blog Talk Radio and One True Media have premium upgrades, but I did not bother with those services yet.

I’m not a professional writer, editor, or journalist. I am just someone who has spent every spare minute of my life mastering Digital Media these past five years, and…

I’m a Mom with a vision.

I have been highly influenced by my friendship with Leonard Horowitz. Len is a health truth warrior.

And I am so supportive of the battles he has engaged in with the Pharma Companies. He understands just what is at stake if we don’t win the war against the death merchants.

This magazine is not a fashion or celebrity rag. It is not intended to entertain or distract.

Thankful to be alive…

Yet again I have been at deaths door a couple times this past week.

I became deathly ill last weekend while traveling to Salt Lake City.

We had a whirlwind day last saturday with a morning wedding, a trip to temple square, a movie, dinner at the mall, christmas lights, Deseret Book, and then to Pauls sisters house for a short sleep and then home. I started to show deadly symptoms during the night about 2am. By the time we reached Cedar City I was so ill, I knew it was deadly…typical symptoms of lung congestion, burning in my throat, dizzy, headache, etc..

By sunday afternoon I was gasping for air and asked Paul for a priesthood blessing. He phoned his brother Larry and I received the blessing last sunday afternoon.

I immediately calmed, but that night had another incident that left me wondering if my time on earth was quickly drawing to a close. I spent two hours in the tub taking sips of air into my lungs while soaking in bath water laced with six pounds of epsom salt.

I slathered hundreds of essential oils drops all over my chest and prayed for a miracle.

I have have had so many of these incidents over the past eight years that I pretty much have the treatment down to a pattern.

1. Prayer
2. Priesthood Blessing
3. Essential Oils
4. Epsom Salt
5. Baths, with tons of skin scrubbing as well as hot and cold therapy with changing temperature of the water
6. Wheat Grass Juice
7. Fresh pressed juices
8. Lots of fat in my diet to surround the poison and protect vital organs until the poison can be safely eliminated from my body
9. Rest
10. Weeks of recovery
11. Oil Pulling for pounding headaches

I am glad to still be here and hope for recovery.

I have been praying for my enemies.

In this article Bloom dumps on the Latter Day Saints as well as the Tea Party, so for me it was a double whammy…

The article was such a mish mash of incoherent blatherings that it was difficult to recognize what point Professor Bloom was trying to make. Professors of his stature often forget that Humanism is in fact a religion. A religion as easily defined and practiced as my Mormon Faith.

Cooking With Children

I love Kamut. It is my favorite grain in terms of flavor, how I feel after I eat it, and ease of use when baking.
Here are the recipes from this mornings baking adventures!
Kamut Pancakes:
3 C Fresh Ground Organic Kamut Flour
1 C White Flour
1/2 C FG (Fresh Ground) Whole Brown Flax
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
6 eggs
3 tbs Olive Oil
3 C milk (any milk will work, rice milk actually gives the pancakes a wonderful flavor!)
Mix all ingredients and fry in a frying pan with a little olive oil. Serve with syrup….etc..

The Power of Moms

Recently I have discovered a whole world of Mormon Mommy Bloggers who are engaged in some amazing work online. My daughter told me about Shawni Pothiers Blog 71 Toesa few months ago. Shawni has several sisters and in laws who are dedicated Mom Bloggers and as I have explored the work they are doing, I felt it would be a great idea to share some of their links and thoughts on my own blog.

Shawni’s sister Saren has a web site called The Power of Moms A Gathering Place for Deliberate Mothers. Saren also writes a family blog called Five Kids in Five Years.

I don’t have much time for blog reading, as I spend quite a bit of my time doing my own internet work and reading about politics, but I have been so impressed with the intention these women put into their Mothering that I felt like a shout out was in order.

The Economics of Natural Mothering

I have been planning to write this post for some time now, years it feels like, and someday I plan to encapsulate these thoughts into a book written for young women. For now, I’ll try to take the mishmash of my thoughts and attempt to get something readable into the blogosphere.

I have spent untold hours reading commentary on economics these past few decades (Bar none fav author is Thomas Sowell). And with the upsurge in concerns about the economy, it feels like so many of my favorite authors have been waxing far more eloquent than I with conservative ideas for fixing the broken parts of the American Economy.

Some of the most recent liberal and conservative ideas being thrown around include limiting family size to 2 children, decelebritizing mothers who give birth to multiples, and there has been a whole lotta talk about some sort of a ginormous government stimulus to “create jobs“.

(NaturalNews) The horrific saga of Maryanne Godboldo’s battle with domestic terrorists in the government of her home state of Michigan appear to finally be coming to an end. The Detroit Free Press reports that two higher courts have confirmed the ruling of a lower court several months ago that Godboldo’s refusal to administer the dangerous Risperdal drug to her daughter was fully legal, and that all charges and actions taken against her by the state were unwarranted. In case you missed the story, Child Protective Services (CPS) in Michigan sent a SWAT team and tank to Godboldo’s Detroit home back in April after the mother refused to keep giving her 13-year-old daughter Risperdal (risperidone), a dangerous schizophrenia drug that had been causing her daughter to experience severe adverse reactions. Godboldo’s doctor had recommended that she discontinue use of the drug, but CPS felt otherwise, and decided to launch a full-scale terrorist raid on the woman’s home, where they proceeded to illegally kidnap her daughter.

Dr. Stuart Fischbein is a strong supporter of patients rights to informed consent and refusal. He believes a patient has the right to choose her own path given true and not skewed informed consent. Following that tenet, just as a woman should be able to choose to have an elective c/section she should be able to choose not to have one, as well. He believes the American system of hospital based obstetric practice has been eroding those choices for women for quite some time. Due to concerns of economics, expediency and fears of litigation women are being coerced to make choices that may not be in their best interest.

On this show we will be discussing Breech Birth. He believes that term breech presentation should be treated as just a variation of normal.

Home Crafted Soap

The kit made twenty small bars of soap. Then I purchased two more kits and made some Rose Oil soap and included the petals from a dozen red roses.

My daughters will be heading back to school in a few days and it was so fun to have Shelly come ask me if she could take some of my soap back with her. I happily handed her half a dozen bars.

This was a fun project. And except for the dishwasher exploding with an overwhelm of bubbles when I tossed my double boiler in without scraping the hardened soap, relatively painles, and a new way to create lucious soap for just a few dollars.
