Presidents speech to Congress on the Economy

The Patriot Post has a great conservative round up of responses to the Presidents Speech
Obama%20signs%20stimulus.jpg
I watched the press conference broadcast from Denver before the president signed the stimulus bill, and I watched the whole speech last night to congress, laughed out loud when he said he did not believe in Big Government. Well it is what it is and now we all can stand back and watch this thing play out.
I would recomend to anyone reading this to put your money into a supply of long term food storage. Undoubtedly inflation is going to up the price of all foods over the long haul, and with Congress throwing money out hand over fist the dollar is going to be devalued. So, if you have any cash lying around and are not quite sure what to do with it, invest it in some food. I have many blog entries that cover Provident Living in detail with multiple links etc…
And the most time consuming blog entries I have put together share in detail how to use whole grains on a day to day basis.
Eating whole foods will not only help you with your grocery budget, it will help lower health care costs, as you and your family will increase in overall health eating these simple foods.
God Bless America.

A Message to my Readers about Comments…

UPDATE: March 2010

I’m getting too much spam again and feel the need to turn the comments off for a while.  Sorry!  Thanks for stopping by, Jenny

Original Post:

When I began this blog back in 2005 I was an experienced Chat Room Participant who understood the roll of Trolls on the web.  I really wanted this blog to be an interactive place where a community could form.

After blogging for a few weeks I had to turn my trackbacks off because of horrifying spam.  The revolting porn that was being attached to my blog along with the thousands of drug ads from pharma companies was so sickening, I just had to turn them off.

Then the comment spam started rolling in. I would wake up and when I opened my email box it would be stuffed to the brim with bogus comments, often some of the most sickening content on the web.  I would spend much time deleting these comments and looking for legitimate ones to keep.  I finally realized that if I wanted to be a “blogger” I would need to let the comments go, because I did not have time to do much more than moderate my own blog.

From the spam that attacked, it was obvious that Drug Companies were having a field day with my online efforts, and I still believe Big Pharma Advertising Whores who spam everyone with drug ads through email are some of the worst abusers on the web, not just for anti drug bloggers like me, but for everyone who has an email box.

When I set up this wordpress blog I really wanted to have it be interactive, but within minutes of it going live the drug ads started. Finally, I set it up so that the comments would turn off after three days and am closely monitoring who sends comments, so I can delete them immediately if they are pornographic or spam.

I hope we can create a community on this new blog and look very much forward to interacting with those of you who take the time to stop by.  Just remember that our “debate” or conversation has to happen within three days of my post.

Please remember that I am a busy Mother and spend most of my day caring for my family.  Also, my blog writings are my first priority.  If I am able to take the time to thoughtfully respond to your posted comments, I will, but please do not think I am ignoring you or your comment if I don’t respond.  Some days I may not have the time or energy, other days I may be focused on a writing project for another web site or doing an interview for my new radio show.

Whatever the reason, if I can possibly respond I will.  I will also not hesitate to ban anyone for any reason who appears to have arrived on the scene just to make trouble.  I have a troll dissection portion of my brain that has served me well in the past.  The guys at HillBuzz are also experts at identifying the losers who go around to Conservative Web Sites to make trouble.  Read this post if you want a primer…

Finally, thanks for taking the time to check out this blog.  It has truly become a labor of love.  When I think about the many dozens of articles, letters to the editor, column proposals, and my books that were rejected by editor after editor over the past twenty years, I just have to believe that I was born to be a Blogger.

NYT: John Bolton: Iraq’s Victory, Iran’s Loss

Iraq’s Victory, Iran’s Loss

“…IRAQ’S peaceful elections and strong voter turnout last weekend were a major success for both that country and the United States — not that there was much celebration in American news coverage.

The elections could also redefine Iran’s role in the region. Critics of the Iraq war claimed that overthrowing Saddam Hussein in 2003 strengthened Iran’s position. Had we left Mr. Hussein in power, the theory goes, Iran would be less of a global threat. This argument is fundamentally wrong.

…Uncomfortable though it may be for some on the American left to admit, the “surge” continues to work, politically and militarily. The moment has come for the Obama administration to acknowledge what those fingers dipped in purple ink truly represent — a triumph for democracy.”

John R. Bolton, the United States ambassador to the United Nations from 2005 to 2006, is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and the author of “Surrender Is Not an Option.”
Amen Mr. Bolton. Hey, would you consider running for president in 2012???

Dr. Phil: Single Mothers, Is Ann Coulter right or wrong?

UPDATE:
Dr. Phil decided NOT to have Ann on his show. Not sure why, especially given the fact that for the past two days he has railed against a single mother of fourteen without even once delving into the long term consequences of all of those children being raised without a father and then set loose on society.
If you would like to protest Dr. Phil tucking tail and running from the moral questions around single motherhood, please contact his guest coordinator to object!

The most important issues beyond money, health, and the immediate concerns inherent in one third of our young mothers choosing to give birth without a husband are in fact the long term consequences on our society and the fallout from so many children being denied a loving father in their lives.
Dr. Phil is a coward because he knows the debate will be long, painful, and controversial and he might risk offending his base viewers and advertisers by having Ann and her moral views on his show.
Shame on you Dr. Phil. Right is right and if we can’t be honest about the massive problems single mothers choices will have on the long term health of our nation, why bother talking about a woman with fourteen children? Why not have twenty? Thirty? A Million? No, wait, that is what we have in America, 1.3 million children being born every year without a father in the home. If you don’t have the guts to stand up and say that is WRONG, you should not be judging anything on your show.
Our children and grandchildren deserve to know the truth about family life.
And without the adults standing up and saying boldly “Choosing to bring a child into the world without being married is WRONG”, our daughters will never understand the suffering and pain they are shoving on innocent children.

Dr. Phil is going to have Ann Coulter on his show.

ANN COULTER says, “Look at almost any societal problem and you will find it is really a problem of single mothers.”

“By their own choices, [single mothers] consign their children to starting life with second-class status.”
“We also have a term for the youngsters involved: ‘the children of divorce,’ or as I call them, ‘future strippers.”
Are you a single mother with a strong opinion about ANN COULTER’S comments on single motherhood?
Do you feel like your child or children are “starting life with second-class status” because you are a single mother?
Are you a child of a single mother and take offense when Ann calls you a “future stripper?”
Or do you feel single motherhood is indeed a “plague,” and that all social programs and welfare help to support single-mother households?
Do you think it is unfair that your tax dollars go to support so many single mothers?
If you have a strong opinion on ANN COULTER and what she says about single mothers, please let us know.
PLEASE ONLY RESPOND IF YOU ARE WILLING TO APPEAR ON A SHOW WITH DR. PHIL!
Hey Ladies! Have at it – Contact the Dr. Phil show if you would like to confront Ann Coulters Claims about single motherhood in her new book Guilty!
I would encourage all of you to read the book first though to understand the issues.
My husband bought me her book Guilty for my birthday last week and I have read the chapter on single mothers. It is the battle cry for children to have the love and nurture they DESERVE from a Father. I applaud Ann for her powerful and factual focus on the family.
The children of the future deserve nothing less than the love and tender nurture from a mother and a father who love and provide for them and have the marriage covenant wrapped around them.
I wholeheartedly endorse Ann’s book Guilty as a powerful antidote to pop cultural messages and court decisions that have eroded family sovereignty, and I applaud Dr. Phils decision to air the debate on television, it should be a wonderful and educational hour of television.
After Dan Quayle was borked by the media in 1992 on this issue, conservatives tucked tail and ran whenever the issue of single motherhood was brought up. It is time to stand up for the family and share the facts with our young people. The babies of the future are depending on us to tell the truth to the mothers and fathers of tomorrow!
