SNL: Palin/Clinton Political Skit

C-BS Story on Palins reaction to the skit:
Best Line:

“According to her spokesperson Tracey Schmitt, the real Sarah Palin had a good laugh along with the press corps in the back of the plane and millions of Americans at home.

“She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween,” Schmitt said.”

I stayed up and watched SNL with my daughters saturday night (They wanted to watch Michael Phelps). I thought the first skit was sorta funny, but I was disapointed in the sketches that followed. The comedic timing was off on almost all of the skits. But I guess most ardent dems have been struggling the past two weeks with digestive disorders as they watch their political hopes and dreams just melt away.
Bummer.
I suppose if SNL had even one republican writer, actor, or producer on staff they might have pulled off a successful show, but with everyone all angry and depressed, it was likely impossible to come up with anything funny.
Note to Loren Michaels – get some conservatives on staff….it’s going to be a depressing year for libs, especially when McCain/Palin blows out Obama with a 65% win and you guys can’t yell about recounts and bogus voting.
Anyone had a chance to check out the Peoples Cube?
Hillarious….

Lipstick and Towers

“…What worries me more about Barack Obama is not his use of hoary old sayings, but his judgment; he’s running for the position of commander-in-chief, after all.

In his acclaimed bestseller, Dreams from My Father, he wrote, “I know, I have seen, the desperation and disorder of the powerless: how it twists the lives of children on the streets of Jakarta or Nairobi in much the same way as it does the lives of children on Chicago’s South Side, how narrow the path is for them between humiliation and untrammeled fury, how easily they slip into violence and despair. I know that the response of the powerful to this disorder—alternating as it does between a dull complacency and, when the disorder spills out of its proscribed confines, a steady, unthinking application of force, of longer prison sentences and more sophisticated military hardware—is inadequate to the task. I know that the hardening of lines, the embrace of fundamentalism and tribe, dooms us all.”

That worries me, and not because I am without compassion for hardship. There is humiliation and fury on Chicago’s South Side. And there is humiliation and fury among Muslims and Catholics alike in Pakistan. But Hamas’s hatred for the Jews in Israel is a specific and evil thing that does not need to be understood as much as it needs to be condemned and stopped. And the men who murdered 3,000 of us on September 11, 2001, hate those who live on Chicago’s South Side as much as they hate the wealthy folks who work on Wall Street.

Seven years after the attacks on my city and our country, no lipstick can gloss over the truth: There is a war on. And I’m not sure the Democratic party — the party that ostracized Joe Lieberman simply for daring to support our effort in Iraq — gets it.”

Hugh Hewitt: An Army of Sarahs

An Army of Sarahs

“Since the day John McCain selected Palin as his running mate, I have spoken with only women callers to my radio show. For the past week I have limited callers to those who are calling a radio show for the very first time. All the lines have been filled every hour of every day. Caller after caller wants to discuss their affection for Sarah, their willingness to work for her and contribute to the RNC and to share stories of like-minded women in their families and among their friends.

Each new attack on Palin brings increased enthusiasm for her….”

“…The contempt American media elites feel for their viewers has never been so sharply on display.

This is not an objection to asking Palin tough questions. I don’t think there is a serious objection to Charlie Gibson’s tone or subject matter when he sat down with Palin. She answered all of his many questions with hardly a stumble, as opposed to Obumble’s repeated pratfalls in debates past.

But there is resentment that after a year-and-a-half there is not one interview of Obama –who wants the top job not the understudy role– remotely as tough, with sustained lines of questions on sensitive issues of foreign affairs peppered with probing interruptions. Not one. Obama has always been allowed to filibuster, and every interviewer has retreated from attacks that have put Obama on the defensive. The cowing of the MSM by the left-wing bloggers is complete, and they know better than to push The One very hard.

That’s just the way it is with a deeply-biased, almost openly partisan MSM, but a very, very media-savvy American public knows exactly what is going on. The voters’ distaste for the great prop-up of Obama showed itself first in the late primaries where Hillary racked up win after win and now in the sudden shift of independents towards McCain-Palin.

Last week I wrote about Palin’s appeal across the anti-freeze states. That appeal has since deepened, and the rallies are huge and growing wherever she travels. Americans like her, and dismiss the idea that she’s not ready to be vice-president when the obviously unprepared whisp of a resume that is Obama is the nominee of the Democrats.

The MSM is clueless, and the Army of Sarahs is growing.”
