Capricious Convert
Edwards’s breathtaking mind-changing.
I know many of my homebirth friends find it impossible to believe that I am a NEO-Conservative who is a strong Romney supporter.
I know that many of you feel comfortable voting for John Edwards because he is so willing to “stand up to the Big Pharma Companies”.
As Mr. Krauthammer so devastatingly notes in this piece, John Edwards has no moral compass with which to keep him steady. His breathtaking flips and flops makes Romneys political evolution towards conservatism (Which MOST conservatives experience as they mature), makes him look like the weeble of the bunch.

“Weebles wooble, but they don’t fall down!”
One of the biggest problems I have with John Edwards and Bill and Hillary Clinton is the tendency to lie, about…well….EVERYTHING. Barack Obama, although a socialist in word and deed, strikes me as an honest person, and I hope he is the democratic nominee.
I am much more comfortable with A Mitt Romney as president, who, even though he publicly supports and endorses Big Pharma, is an honest man. And I feel safer with an honest person at the helm of our country than a Fraud like Hillary Clinton. Romney also has a profound understanding of Economics and Capitalism, and is going to fight the War on Terror with wisdom. He has a complete understanding of the job he will have as Commander in Chief of the military.
I am not Anti-Pharma.
I have deadly allergies and MANY times my life has been saved by chemicals. I keep my epi pen and inhaler in my purse at all times, and I am grateful that my life has been extended over and over by these life saving chemicals.
That being said, I believe the psychiatric drug industry/infrastructure needs a complete and utter overhaul and I have major issues with the Birth Industry. And I believe consumers should be given complete informed consent by the medical people before they use any drug or have any procedure done. I also have serious issues with forced vaccinations and the bullying parents experience to use allopathic drugs and surgery when children are ill. I also hate that so many American Tax dollars back up this one form of healing when a whole world of wellness is out there for us to experience in the form of chiropractic, homeopathy, herbs, vitamins, nutrition, massage, etc etc..
The democrats want to nationalize the whole allopathic mess and I believe that would be a tragic mistake. It would legitimize drugs and surgery as the ONLY form of healing available to the American consumer and ensure this medical monopoly for generations to come.
I believe the answer for our society is to privatize the whole big health care mess and let the market decide which forms of healing will stay and which will go.
Ron Paul had an interesting say on this topic recently, Rixa Freeze, again, had this on her blog this morning. Ron Paul on licensure of midwives.
QUOTE:
Presidential Candidate Ron Pal discusses health care licensing.
Some of his main points:
licensing is a monopoly; it keeps other people from competing.
licensing is better than prohibition, but the ideal is that people make up their own minds.
I’m not in favor of government prohibiting people from making private choices. I might have a medical opinion, but politically people should make their own choices.
I wonder what Dr. Paul, who is an obstetrician, would think of Unassisted Childbirth???

First They Came for Piglet
One of Steyns best:
QUOTES:

“The British home secretary would respond that not all moderate imams are as gung-ho to detonate moppets. Which is true. But, by insisting on re-labeling terrorism committed by Muslims in the name of Islam as “anti-Islamic activity,” Her Majesty’s government is engaging not merely in Orwellian Newspeak but in self-defeating Orwellian Newspeak. The broader message it sends is that ours is a weak culture so unconfident and insecure that if you bomb us and kill us our first urge is to find a way to flatter and apologize to you.”

“This is now a recurring theme in British life. A while back, it was a local government council telling workers not to have knick-knacks on their desks representing Winnie-the-Pooh’s porcine sidekick, Piglet. As Martin Niemöller famously said, first they came for Piglet and I did not speak out because I was not a Disney character and, if I was, I’m more of an Eeyore. So then they came for the Three Little Pigs, and Babe, and by the time I realized my country had turned into a 24/7 Looney Tunes it was too late, because there was no Porky Pig to stammer “Th-th-th-that’s all, folks!” and bring the nightmare to an end.”

7-year plan aligns U.S. with Europe’s economy
Rules, regs to be integrated without congressional review
It is the American Constitution, the Rule of Law, and the Sovereignty of the American People that keeps the world socialist billionaire boys club from coming into our homes to steal all of our money, tell us how many children we can have, and deprive us of our rights of self determination.
This move to world government should be fought with everything we’ve got people, or one day a social worker from the World Nanny Socialist Party will be showing up at your door to register your children and “educate” you about the new rules to govern your life.

American Imperialism?

Thanks to my friend Ruth for sharing these quotes with me.
DEFENDING AMERICA’S HONOR
Here are a few military comebacks…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building‘ by George Bush.
He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.
It became very quiet in the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then there was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break one of the French engineers came back into the room saying ‘Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?’
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: ‘Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?’
Once again, dead silence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, ‘whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.’
He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied ‘Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.
You could have heard a pin drop.
A group of Americans, retired teachers, recently went to France on a tour.
Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. ‘You have been to France before, monsieur?’ the customs officer asked sarcastically. Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously. ‘
Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.’
The American said, ‘The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.’
‘Impossible! Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France!’ The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look.
Then he quietly explained. ‘Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in ’44 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find any Frenchmen to show it to.’
I love the American Military. My brother who is serving in Bahrain recently was able to meet President Bush and Condoleeza Rice as they traveled to the region. He said that the president told his group during a short speech in the Embassy in Bahrain that whenever oppressed people have Freedom dangled in front of them, they always grasp it.
