David Horowitz: Revenge Is Justice

Revenge Is Justice

“It’s a pinch myself day when the lead news story is about recriminations and regrets that Saddam Hussein, a man who incarnates evil, was not treated more decently at his belated hanging. And the editorial hand-wringing is that this was revenge not justice. As though being nice to someone who put human beings in plastic shredders — head first — and boiled even his relatives in oil, would make us more civilized rather than less.

Revenge is justice.

Saddam should have been drawn and quartered. The best thing about his execution was the presence of Shi’ia muslims taunting him with the memory of one of his Shi’ia victims. The shameless left and shameless liberals who would have kept this monster in power and are now shedding tears over the fact that he was killed should have the decency to let the Iraqis have their moment of revenge, pitiful as it is compared to the crimes this monster committed. Thankfully, at least one liberal — the editor of the New Republic Marty Peretz — has had some sensible things to say on this subject in today’s Wall Street Journal.”

Ann Coulter: THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY: A VAST SLEEPER CELL

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY: A VAST SLEEPER CELL

“Five years after that, Islamic lunatics in Iran felt no compunction about storming the embassy of what was once the greatest superpower on Earth and taking American citizens hostage for 14 months. To this day, al-Qaida boosts the flagging morale of its jihadists by reminding them of America’s humiliating retreat from Vietnam.

In addition to being wrong about Ford’s pardon of Nixon, liberals were wrong about a few other things from that era. Democrats haven’t admitted error in rejecting Ford’s pleas on behalf of South Vietnam because there are still dangerous foreigners trying to kill Americans. Nixon is safely interred in the ground, but the enemies of America continue to need the Democrats’ help.”

Hugh Hewitt: Steyn, Owens, Romney and Me

Steyn, Owens, Romney and Me

“There’s a long way to go until Iowa, but as 2007 opens, the momentum remains where it was throughout 2006, with Mitt Romney. Mayor Giuliani could indeed make it a race, and Senator McCain might still turn it around with some “straight talk” with conservatives, not Chris Matthews.

Let me repeat: This isn’t an endorsement, just an analysis. Announcements like Owens’ matter and takes like Steyn’s do as well.”
