Iraq Study Group Report – the Iraqi Response

WestHawk:

“It seems as if Mr. Baker and his colleagues have managed to anger Iraq’s Kurds, America’s best allies in Iraq, and Iraq’s Shi’ites, the sect that is destined to dominate post-Saddam Iraq. By contrast, Iraq’s Sunni Arabs, source of the Baathists, protectors of Al Qaeda, rejecters of Iraq’s constitution and of reconciliation, and mass killers of American soldiers, Iraq’s Sunni Arabs apparently like the ISG report.

What more evidence is needed that something is wrong with the ISG report?”

Sledding with Benjamin

The other day I took Ben Sledding at our favorite hill by a pond at our city park.
We usually go sledding in the drainage ditch across the street from our house. The hill is a perfect size for his age and ability, but this pond hill is twice as big and more of a challenge. It was also a sheet of ice, so he was able to go very fast.
Here are some photos:

We walked around this pond to get to the hill.

The temperature was fifty degrees outside. Ben was wearing Allisons old snow pants and Andy’s old jacket mostly for padding for when he wiped out. And yes, he splashed into the snow several times. The only time he cried though is when I told him it was time to leave.

Ben liked boarding down the hill on his feet. This time he stayed on until he made it to the bottom.
Here is a shot of the sunrise taken that same morning.

I took him boarding again this morning, and it was downright warm outside, most of the snow gone, but he found a few patches to slide down. It is fun watching him learn how to balance. Some of my fondest memories from childhood involve winter snow outings in Michigan where I grew up. We don’t ski and so the Colorado skiing thing is not on our radar, but we do love to be outdoors and enjoy the snow. Our little hills and one really big hill in Boulder (Scott Carpenter park) for the older kids, and a small outdoor ice rink downtown seem to fit the bill for the type of outdoor fun we enjoy during the winter months.
I love doing things one on one with my children. We had a good time.

Terrorists Rejoicing over new Iraq Plan

Terrorists Rejoicing…..

JERUSALEM – “A high level U.S. commission’s recommendations for an eventual withdrawal from Iraq and for dialogue with Iran and Syria proves “Islamic resistance” works and America will ultimately be defeated, according to senior terrorist leaders interviewed by WND.

The militants, from the largest Palestinian terror groups in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, welcomed the policies outlined by the Iraq Study Group, which they claim recognizes Islam is the “new giant of the world.””

Cal Thomas – This Way Out?

This Way OUT?

“By its own admission, the Iraq Study Group (ISG) has submitted a “flawed” report to the president, to Congress and to the American people.

While the report properly calls for the Iraqi government to do more to reconcile warring factions, take greater control over its defense and defeat insurgent-terrorists, the ISG falls into a trap set by panel co-chair James Baker, who has long believed that what the United States and Israel do determines the behavior of unelected dictators and religious fanatics.”

Ann Coulter – Operation Surrender

INCOMING CONGRESS PREPARES TO LAUNCH ‘OPERATION SURRENDER’

“The “bipartisan” Iraq panel has recommended that Iran and Syria can help stabilize Iraq. You know, the way Germany and Russia helped stabilize Poland in ’39.

Now that Democrats have won the House, they can concentrate on losing the war. Despite all the phony conservative Democrats who got elected as gun-totin’ hawks, the Democrats will uniformly vote to dismantle every aspect of the war on terrorism. They’ve started a runaway train and can’t stop it now.”
