Second, I was an active participant in all of the early planning meetings, email chats, and online networking that was happening the first year of Tea Party Activism in 2009.
Point being that I was not just a casual attendee or helper, I was one of the main organizers in Colorado.
Third, I was so disgusted by the disorganized mess that was the Tax Day Colorado Tea Party on April 15th, 2009, the various infighting, posturing for power, kowtowing to party politics, and general disorganization, that I made the decision to organize my own event for the 9-12-2009 Constitution Celebration that was being promoted by Glenn Beck.
Please note, I did not have any guidance, instruction, financing, or outside help while organizing this event, despite Nancy Pelosi calling us astroturf. Tea Partiers tend to hate both political parties at about the same level.
Fourth, I was angered but not surprised when my online registration form at the IRS web site was rejected with the words Tea Party in the form.
Fifth, the blowback on me and my family was a reminder that political dissent was no longer acceptable in Obamas world. I will not outline the different tactics that were used to disuade me from my activism, but if a financial audit had happened, I would not have been surprised based on the subtle but real intimidation that was already taking place.
Sixth, the IRS should be abolished as soon as possible before Obamacare ensures that all American Citizens walk in daily terror of the Federal Government. Steve Forbes flat tax is looking pretty good about now.
Jenny Hatch speaks about Going Galt at the first Denver Tea Party
Last September I helped organize the Denver 9-12 Evening Teaparty and Candlelight Vigil for Freedom.

Reporter Wendy Norris chased me down after my remarks for a quick interview before Benjamin and I left for home because we were FREEZING cold. Here is her take on my speech:
“One hundred enthusiastic Atlas Shrugged fans braved chilly temperatures on the east steps of the Colorado capitol Friday as part of a nationwide “tea party” protest to rail against the federal stimulus package and the government, in general.
Beyond the typical conservative-Libertarian rhetoric was some practical advice on how to “shrug these parasites off our backs” like opening a black market in your own garage.
Jenny Hatch of Louisville kicked off the event with a reading from the fictional anti-government manifesto Atlas Shrugged by libertarian darling Ayn Rand.
Hatch implored the crowd of mainly middle-aged white folk to shrug off medical care, run a subsistence farm with a garden, cows and chickens, and create a black market barter-and-trade system with like-minded neighbors. Presumably all in an effort to block government interference in one’s life from the ills of federally-monitored health care, food inspection, trade regulation and monetary systems.
Flanked by hand-made Obama-is-a-socialist signs in the crowd, the Louisville mom of five thanked the smattering of Republicans, conservatives, Libertarians, one self-disclosed Democrat and “creme de la creme Constitutionalists” for helping to drive out the “Marxist moonbats in Washington, DC.”
I said it then and I’ll say it again today in this post on health care. The most important thing you can as a citizen of America is to “Go Galt” with your health care. Take personal responsibility for your own health and if you have children, take more responsibility for the health of your family. The number one thing that happens in American Hospitals is Childbirth. Sixty One percent of all hospitalizations are in one way or another related to birth, and so I would challenge the Mothers of America to learn the skills of natural mothering and start planning now to give birth quietly at home.
The second principle I outlined in that speech in order to live “under the radar” of the Marxists, was to grow as much of your own food as possible. By growing your own vegetables, fruits, nuts, and perhaps even your own grains, potatoes, and beans, individual citizens could easily live on a subsistence farm completely self reliant from commercial food sources. This is a dream that Paul and I have. And I look forward to someday owning some property where we could grow our own food and live completely off the grid.
The third way I challenged citizens to “Go Galt” was to prepare now to barter and trade with neighbors. Bartering takes citizens out of the tax loop and allows for “free” trade without the sticky fingers of government tax collectors to step in and and steal the fruits of your labors. Running a Barter Based black market out of your basement or garage could be the way to circumvent taxes and the inherent “pooling” of resources that will be used to prop up the various socialistic parasitic government plans that are now being prepared to soak the American Producers at the expense of the American Parasites.
An example of this type of living would be a mother who has the skills of teaching music, cutting hair, or tutoring in math trading her skill or service in exchange for a bushel of apples, a couple pounds of home made soap, or some home baked bread. Instead of a cash transaction being conducted, a barter or trade could easily replace the money, and nobody in government would ever be able to steal anything from the trade. If a huge number of American Citizens started to live this way overnight… it would lead to the inevitable collapse of the American Socialistic State that much more quickly.
I would challenge anyone who would like to understand these principles more fully to take the time to read Atlas Shrugged and study the philosophy of Objectivism.
Americans are intelligent and innovative people and if you are someone who feels as strongly as I do that your tax dollars not be used to pay for Abortions, learning this new way of living and thinking will enable all of us to participate in the American Economy without propping up those systems that are revolting to our morality.
Teapartiers have vowed to keep fighting this system of health care, on the streets and in the courts, but I believe the best way to “fight” is just to shrug and Go GALT! And then let it melt into the vast, behemoth of nothingness that it is…

I was just watching c-span
and the host was talking with his guest about health care and the teaparty “people”. Many callers took the time to share views on “what the teaparty people” think, and although none claimed to be members of this maligned crowd, it was interesting to me to have others attempting to describe who I am and what I think.
I thought I’d take a minute to share my views on health care as it relates to teaparty attendees, simply because I am a fierce teapartier and I write a health care blog.
I can’t speak for others and I don’t know that any of my friends who have also taken to the streets this past year feel as I do, but I want to make one point. The dark night of medical fascism has been hanging as a blight over the American People for a long time. Each step that has been taken legislatively to remove our rights of self determination and place a doctor, a social worker, a pharmacist, and a judge over our bodies and minds has brought us to this place. The big question in my mind is,
How BLEAK will the dark night of Medical Fascism become?
Lord knows for those parents who have children removed from their custody simply because of refusal to vaccinate, refusal to medicate with psychiatric meds, refusal to use chemo for cancer, refusal to have a newborn incarcerated in a NICU, refusal to have any doctor recomended surgery, drug, psychiatric intervention etc etc etc the bleakness has been overwhelming. Tens of thousands of families in America have learned first hand what happens when Mom or Dad says “No thanks, don’t want to use the product you are selling” and that big, nasty, overpriced medical arm comes crashing down and yells, “YES YOU WILL!
Parents have lost custody of their children over and over and over again when that Medical Behemoth declares them unfit for refusal to use the services, medications, and medical devices they produce to sell to consumers. This blog is dedicated to exposing some of those abuses of power and giving parents a place to learn how to protect themselves and their children from the iantrogenic (doctor caused) abuses that seem to be attached to every drug and every medical practice, especially those around birth and psychiatric care.
As President Obama prepares to use the Delphi Technique to manipulate the Nation to his predetermined outcome of Government Run Health Care, the questions that citizens and the politicians need to ask him is this:
Do consumers have the right to say NO?
Will citizens be supported in choosing to use alternative healing as opposed to drugs and surgery when making health care decisions?
Will citizens be able to retain their sovereignty over their own bodies and minds?
Will parents be enabled to make those health care choices that they believe will give their children the best outcomes physically and emotionally? And if a Mother or a Father decides that the health care services being offered are too expensive, carry too much risk, and/or they have found alternatives that are just as good or better than the toxic brew offered at the hospital….WILL THOSE PARENTS BE SUPPORTED IN CHOOSING SOMETHING BESIDES WHAT THE DOCTOR PRESCRIBES???
For this teapartier, the ultimate principle in all of the health care debate is this:
If I don’t have the right to claim sovereignty over my own body and mind, and if I as a Mother don’t have the right to make health care choices for and in behalf of my children until they are old enough to make those choices for themselves, then I am already a Medical Slave and it doesn’t really matter who is paying the bills.
Wether it is my husbands employer or the taxpayers paying the bills, the Medical Profession will keep chugging along, paying politicians on both sides of the isle and playing it straight down the middle legislatively. I don’t think the Pharmaceutical Companies who run the Medical Schools and the Media care too much who is paying the bills. Wether the health care system is the current Medical Fascism or Complete Socialism or straight on Commuism, somebody is going to pay.
The Medical Police State will stay high up on its pedastal until we the people decide to get off our knees and learn a thing or two about how to be really healthy.
True Health, Lasting life giving fun joyful whole living health is to be found in a kernal of whole wheat, a gently birthed babe, a tummy full of mothers milk, and joyful, healthy, family life….
And the Government doesn’t have a whole heck of lot to do with those things.
