Â
I’ve been a member of Free Republic since March of 2003.
Â
For a couple of months before joining this amazing group of Conservative Activists I had been looking for a group to affiliate with to support the troops. My brother Jim had been deployed to Iraq during the early years of the war, and as I received his weekly emails to our family, I was distressed that he was disheartened by all of the negative reporting going on in the press.
Â
He felt that the good things they were accomplishing were not being told and he was discouraged. I wanted to do something to help him and all of the soldiers, and so I went looking for a veterans group to help support in some visible, meaningful way. I have Al Franken to thank for learning about Free Republic. Once on his radio show, (I do listen to air amerika every once in a while to see what they are talking about), he mentioned backlash from Freepers at an antiwar event that he had spoken at.
Â
I figured if these Freepers were willing to go confront Al Franken and the anti-war crowd, they were the people for me to affiliate with. And I was right!
Â
I joined the online group the very week I attended my first anti war protest here in Longmont Colorado.
Â
Members of Free Republic are those who are willing to engage in street activism, countering the anti war crowd (Who have always been organized by Communist Groups here in America and around the world). The original intent of the organization was to make certain that what happened to the Vietnam Vets did not happen to our current generation of Soldiers. During the early years of the war the Anti War Planners began to attempt to discredit the American Soldiers the way they were demonized during Viet Nam by traitors like John Kerry and Jane Fonda.
Â
But because of groups like Free Republic and dozens of Military support groups and just the general willingness of the American People not to believe the lies of the media, and also the many military bloggers engaged on the internet sharing stories and first hand reports from the field, those who began to try to discredit the Soldiers were shouted down and they changed tactics and went after the military support organizations like Halliburton and other Private groups who were part of the war. They also completely demonized President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
Â
For whatever reason the American Press was absolutely determined to dump on the War and we all felt that any pushback against the media was important in telling the truth about our soldiers and the important work they were engaged in as they attempted to help the Afghani and Iraqi People set up representative republics. So many of those who I met at various activist events were Viet Nam Vets, and as I talked to them and learned more of why they were involved, they were absolutely determined that our men and women of the military not be demonized like they were during the 60’s and 70’s.
Â
The above video is a compilation of events that took place around the first Gathering of Eagles. The National Organization planned a Washington DC Event that I really wanted to attend, but did not have the time or money to go. So I organized a counter protest on march 17th 2007 at the Denver capitol that I promoted like crazy all over the web.
Â
Some fellow activists organized a big parade up in Fort Collins that was attended by just about all of the local Freepers, but a few showed up to counter the moonbats in Denver. We were all struck by the many communist symbols on the t-shirts and signs of those who were demonstrating. And were mad that although interviewed by a Boulder CU Journalism Intern and a reporter from the Denver Post, nothing was mentioned about our group in the press. After Action Report from that event.
Â
So Dale Lanham and I organized a bake sale a few days after the Gathering of Eagles and earned some money for that intern to have the resources to do an honest job reporting.Â
Â
Most of my involvement with Free Republic has been participating in various chats online on a variety of topics. But I have also really enjoyed standing up with Colorado Friends to support the troops. My friend Ruth, a Gold Star Mother, attended an anti war demo with me in 2006, and we had such a good time visiting in the car on the way down and then demonstrating for our friends and family.
Â
The genesis for the Teaparty Movement has been Freepers all over the country who have been taking to the streets to support Conservative Causes for the better part of the past decade. Operation Infinite Freep, a group of Patriots who demonstrate outside Walter Reed Hospital, have been demonstrating in support of our troop for over 244 weeks!
Â
I am so proud to call my fellow Colorado activists friends. Some of the smartest, most educated people I have ever met participate at Free Republic as activists, citizen reporters, and bloggers. I believe all of the hard work we have put in with these many demos and teaparties have made a difference.
Â
The power of Free Republic cannot be underestimated, and that is why so many “disrupters” are a part of that chatroom. I believe hundreds of paid shills for various groups daily particiapate as trolls in that forum, and some days you can’t have a conversation without chatting with a dozen trolls on any number of topics. For that reason I have not chatted as much as in past years simply because I have better things to do with my time than attempt to publicly defend myself to a bunch of loser, low life, paid whores for the Pharma Companies. Those who want to join should remember that when chatting.
Â
But it is still a great place to get current information, read analysis of various issues, and make real friends. I think the number one thing that endears me to that site is that in all of my posting on various topics, I was never threatened with banning and have had very few of my threads pulled by the moderators. This is a witness to me of the willingness of most conservatives to be open enough to hear both sides of an issue and attempt to find the truth.
Â
I have to juxtipose that reality with my experience at Mothering Discussion Board  where after two weeks I was on Probation as a participant and was constantly having my political threads “pulled for review” and even shut down. It was so frustrating to attempt to write something that would make it past the mods and I was having to constantly self censor.
Â
The mostly “liberal” woman who moderated that discussion board were anything but liberal and open minded to us conservatives who posted on the politics board, and I finally got so fed up with how we were all being treated that one day I told them all exactly what I thought of them and I was banned forever from that board.
Â
I figured that post would be deleted and so I copied and pasted it before it could be pulled and published it at Free Republic and on my blog as a witness to anyone interested that it is the liberals who censor, it is the liberals who want to destroy free speech, it is the liberals who cannot stand to be questioned about their slavery agendas and promotion and defense of tyranny.
Â
Here is that post. It was a defining moment in my life, and truly it was the day I decided to become a blogger. As A Blogger, no one could edit me, ban me, shout me down, or throw me under the bus. I have had multiple hacks to my blog and have been spammed so badly that trackbacks and comments have been nearly impossible to host. I also have been intimidated in other ways by those who would like for nothing more than for me to be GONE. But I’ll keep at it until I’m dead…
Â
Â
“Although I have been permanently banned from participating on the Motheringdotcommune message board, I am still in complete support and solidarity with the goals of Mothering magazine, the lifestyle they promote, and the information they monthly share with readers through their magazine. I live the Natural Lifestyle they espouse with my own family. The main purpose of my blog is to encourage families to live a more natural lifestyle….that being said, here is Cynthia’s email followed by the post that got me banned…”
Â
Jenny, in light of past issues, your past suspension, your subsequent
warnings and alerts, and your ongoing issues with this community I am
closing your account. I have made numerous attempts to justify and defend
your membership here and have stood up to many longtime, devoted and sincere
MDC members in that regard which may have cost me much of their respect. I
can do so no longer. Your most recent post (copy below) speaks very clearly
of your feelings and attitude. MDC is not your community and posts of this
nature are of no community benefit. In fact such words are destructive and
insulting to a community such as ours.
Â
Best wishes and good bye Jenny.

Â
And the post:
Â
“Mommiska,
Â
The great lie has started. I thought it would come after the election, but
with your post, I think we can safely say it is here. What is this lie?
“we were for the freedom of the Iraqi people all along. We always wanted
them to have the rights of self determination. We just didn’t want anyone to
die in the process. We have always been willing to do whatever it took to
support freedom, after all, we are liberals. We are for free speech.
etc.etc.etc….”
Â
This is what I think about the various anti-war threads that have been the
bulk of this board for as long as I have been here.
Â
When president Bush said right after 9-11 “you are either for us or against
us, you either stand with tyranny or you stand with freedom, I took him at
his word. I have never thought the war was about oil profits or Halliburton.
This war was America drawing a line in the sand and simply saying we claim
the right to defend ourselves, to defend our financial interests, to defend
our people, and to defend liberty.
Â
This was a strong stance and it offended lots of people. When the anti-war
demonstrations were taking place in the lead up to the war in Iraq, Sadaam
and all his cohorts in tyranny were watching very closely. They felt they
had the will of the people with them.
Â
When in fact what they had with them were those countries who had a
financial stake in the status quo with them, and a whole lot of gullible
demonstrators who were being organized by Communists, and didn’t even know
it, and who were acting as the useful idiots that tyrants like Sadaam have
used so successfully over the ages.
Â
I have been thinking all morning of a way to illustrate how I see the people
on this board who have a compulsion to share all the bad news every day, day
in and day out, pointing out all mistakes, all mis-steps, all the tragic
deaths, etc etc… And for the record, I have been quite aware of all of the
bad news. And I mourn with the families of both Iraqis and Americans who
have lost loved ones….
Â
The best analogy I can think of is that those who are so dutiful in pointing
out all the negatives of the war are like the Nobles in Braveheart.
Â
These fair weather traitors who would stand in the middle of Tyranny and
Freedom. Who lived comfortably off the sweat and blood of the peasants,
would place themselves front and center in the grey area between Freedom and
Slavery, and whichever way the wind was blowing they would turn, attempting
to gain a measure of fame, comfort, and ease while those who understood the
cost of Freedom did the actual fighting. They were happy to betray when it
was in their own best interests.
Â
Think of that scene in Braveheart when Wallace loses his faith and hope in
the fight. He holds up the flag to call in the nobles calvalry, and they
turn and walk away….just walk away. And thousands were slaughtered. I’ll
never forget the look on Wallace’s face in that moment of the movie. Mel
Gibson captured it perfectly. It was utter astonishment, and disbelief that
such a betrayal could take place.
Â
A similar betrayal took place in Viet Nam when our soldiers walked away and
2 million Cambodians were murdered. John Kerry had said it would be maybe
5,000. No it was 2,000,000 people.
Â
Now as you nobles go about your business of playing it down the middle, or
walking both sides of tyranny and freedom, just know that I know who you
are. When you feel the temptation to say after the election…”well this is
what I wanted all along” just know, that I will be watching, and will know
who you are in your heart.
Â
Unless if you are willing right now today, to stand and be counted before
the Iraqi election and say, “I was wrong. I wish I had seen it more
clearly. I am sorry for the lives my stance cost. I am sorry for the blood
on my treasonous hands”
Â
Unless if you are willing to courageously stand and make this statement, do
not for one minute think you can have it both ways next week. Do not think
that you can write and post and add links and say, “Hey, I have always been
for the troops, I have just been against how it was done. Or, I was always
for Democracy, I just didn’t want anyone to die, or I was always for
Freedom, I just wanted to sound like I knew something, and have my right to
say something stupid and ineffective WITHOUT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR MY WORDS…”
Â
Just know that I understand who you are, Traitors, who have systematically
engaged in treasonous behavior and work during the war. As you have given
aid and comfort to the enemy during this time of war, know that I know in my
heart you have blood on your hands. You have enboldened our enemies during
the war. You have caused the death of innocent men, women, and children,
mostly from the country of Iraq who have been killed by terrorists who have
been working feverishly to kill the will of the American Populace at home.
They have not killed my will. They have not killed the will of our military,
and they Will not kill the will of this president. May God bless him for his
stance, for his clarity, for his willingness to stand strong.
Â
And may those of you who toss hand grenades of disbelief, sarcasm, and
pompous Nobility slunk away to your latte’s and your porn and your secular
humanistic nothing……the world is ACHING for freedom and some of us are
willing to fight for it. I am not a soldier, but I would be willing for my
children to fight in this war, and die in this war. And if you were to use
my child’s blood for your own selfish Noble stance and I saw you in person I
would spit in your eye.
Â
I cringe for any of you who may come in contact with a true patriot mother
whose child has died. They hold you and every contemptuous position you
promote in complete horror and dread. You who willfully rebel against the
truth. I hope you can have the humbling experience of meeting up with one of
these mother’s one day so you can begin to understand the wrongs that you
have committed all in the name of supposedly standing for a moral position.
Â
Your morality is nothing. It is a great big wind bag full of nothing. And
again, as you prepare to put on the mask of “but I was for this all
along…in the coming weeks and month….just know, I hold you all in
complete contempt as an enemy to freedom.
Â
Jenny”
Â
Â
I have really missed participating on the Mothering board these past five years. It is no fun to be rejected and banned from a group of people that you really love and respect. The conservative moms and dads at that site were some of the best people I had ever met on the web. Some of the best parents, most well read, and I truly have mourned not having a forum like that where I could talk to fellow conservatives who were also into a natural lifestyle. We called ourselves “Crunchy Conservatives”. And there are alot more of us out there than anyone is aware of.
Â
So how to reconcile all of this with all of the information I have been reading about 9-11 being planned, the wars a big manipulation for profit, money, and greed, and so many conspiracies racing around the internet, it is just about impossible to settle it all in my heart.
Â
For those in the antiwar crowd who believe that no good has been done in the middle east, I beg you to just look at Iraq now and compare it to the fear filled statist society that was ruled with an iron fist by Sadaam. Yes, I know that certain world government elites have been manipulating and using the countries of the world as their own private chess game for two centuries. And that they have used war, famine, disease, and the manipulation of the money supply for their own private advantage and profit for all of that time. I understand all of those claims and I believe them! The question in my mind today is this….
Â
What were we Americans supposed to do?Â
Â
The Ron Paul crowd thinks we should have just kept our own company and stayed out of the various entanglements and skirmishes around the world as various nations made attempts for Democracy and Freedom. Just “set a good example” and others will follow our lead is the mantra. Set our own house in order and keep our constitution pure and the money supply rock solid on a gold standard and let the foreigners fight it out amongst themselves.
Â
If our allies in France had made that same choice during the American Revolution, I’m not sure the war would have had the outcome that has allowed generations of Americans to be free. And it is certain that if we had not had some cash flowing in from Holland after the war, the Republic would not have been able to stand during the most difficult years after the war. I read the Book Founding Mothers this past summer and a quote from James Madison in that book claimed that he believed the most tenuous time was the ten years after the revolutionary war was over. A time when infighting between the states and the deficiencies in the Articles of Confederation became apparent and the new Constitution was conceived and then put in place. Â
Â
Even with the Bill of Rights and that amazing document, guaranteeing so much freedom, my own people, The Mormons were chased out of America during the early decades, and infighting between the states, foreign wars, and eventually the Civil War made the American Experiment most tenuous during its first century.Â
Â
I believe we need to allow the new democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan have the grace and time to “grow up” and mellow with age into mature democracy, rather than breathlessly hyperventilating over every suicide bomber and attack against the American Troops.Â
Â
Our own Republic has descended into a Congress that is defined by me and many others as a Parliament of Whores. Largely in the pocket of Pharma Companies and world government elites who want to socialize the whole world.
Â
The founders knew that this was where it all would inevitably lead, and so they put checks and balances into the constitution that would allow us to free ourselves from the tangled web that has been so carefully placed around our individual and state sovereignty.
Â
Revolutions can be messy, and right now it is about as messy as it has ever been. But I have infinite hope for the future, for the long term, generational freedom of our children and grandchildren, for those around the world who are aching for freedom and democracy where they live. And for the blessed peace that will come during Christs Millennial reign on the earth.
Â
I am proud of our heritage of freedom in America, and despite tremendous flaws in that history, including the religious persecution of my own people, I have great hopes for the future, and am so grateful to live in a place where I can teach my religion to my own children, where I have the freedom to give birth to as many children as my husband and I deem capable of caring for, and where we have the ability to make choices about our personal life unmolested by police, social workers, and the State.
Â
May it ever be so…
