Two hours of work and we had 2 loaves of Zuchinni Bread, 12 Muffins, 10 Quarts of Summer Squash for the freezer, and 3 pints of Salsa.
Oh, and I also made Oatmeal for breakfast and chicken enchiladas amd rice for supper…whew, off to Little Shop rehearsal.
I love working with my family in the kitchen.
It was fun!
With all of the amazing rain these past few weeks our garden is growing like mad! Â So fun to eat the fresh veges!
When I lived in Boulder I occasionally had some interesting looks from friends whenever my kids talked about Mom growing grass.
My Mormon friends were especially curious to know just what exactly I was growing in my kitchen.
In training your children to be deliberate with the language they use, remind them to call it “Moms WHEAT grass growing operation” to protect you from intense scrutiny.
I was chatting with my friend Aisha on Facebook about wheat grass and she wanted to know what I did. So I made the above video. It could not be easier, just be careful what you call it…

Utah, the place where food falls from the sky!
I was just outside looking at our garden. It appears that we will harvest a very well fertilized crop of grass, lawn grass. The garden has laid fallow for years while my father in law took care of Mom Hatch and then declined himself. I do not know when it was last planted, but the grass and weeds are overwhelming.
My next door neighbor was in her garden harvesting some peppers and asked me if I wanted some. Sure!
So she tossed them over the fence to me.
