Liver Cleanse

I’m going to do a large Liver Cleanse over the next couple of days.

Here are some good links to check out if you are curious about Liver Cleansing. Go Here, Here, and Here.
I have been eating a low fat vegan diet for over two months, and recently went camping up in the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park.

What I have noticed over the years is that the Vegan Diet has a tendency to concentrate the toxins in my liver, helping to prepare them for a flush. Also being up on the mountains tends to concentrate the waste in my liver. I almost immediately start to experience signs of Liver overload when I am at a high altitude. For me these symptoms include; asthma, skin rashes, headache, allergy symptoms, and bloating.

Since coming down off the mountain on saturday, I have had troubling asthma, as well as significant allergy symptoms. This past week I have been fasting for religious reasons (Mormons fast once a month and give the money saved from buying food to the poor in a fast offering) which I did for 24 hours on sat/sun, and followed this fast with a juice fast for two additional days. I had no relief of the allergy symptoms, in fact, they seemed to get worse.
I weaned Ben on Saturday morning before beginning my fast, and decided that it was time to really clean out my body now that he is not getting nourishment from me.

I have not done a parasite or colon cleanse this time. Just the juice fasting, but I have felt guided all week to do a large liver cleanse starting today. I have done dozens of these cleanses over the past eight years. Our Chiropractor introduced us to them back in 1997 when I was having some of the worst gall bladder attacks of my life.

Because I was the classically toxic person with a lifelong history of deadly allergies, asthma, chemical sensitivities, skin problems, etc..I have had to make some extra effort in terms of cleansing my liver.

In all of this cleansing, I have felt strongly that I should never diet or restrict my calories in any way, especially while pregnant and nursing. I have done therapuetic fasting, and certain cleansing diets, like the vegan diets and juice fasts for a period of weeks or months to aid in my cleansing efforts when I was not pregnant or nursing. However, I have had a baby on the breast for 11 of the past 17 years, so these windows of opportunity have been short.

Last summer I did two full weeks of raw eating, but stopped because Ben was looking so skinny. He missed that pure buttermilk he was getting through my breastmilk, which came from me eating a mostly vegetarian diet, but liberally sprinkled with animal foods like eggs, butter, and milk (which I have learned over the years makes the breast milk flow like cream!)

Now that he is weaned, I plan to do some fun cleansing and purifying diets over the next year or so, and see what happens in terms of my weight, health, and energy level.

Today I plan to eat a light breakfast and lunch, and then start doing the Olive Oil and Grapefruit/Lemon Juice about 3PM.
Can’t wait to see what happens!

UPDATE: August 12

I did the infusion of olive oil and grapefruit/lemon juice about three PM yesterday and WOW, I have passed lots and lots of debris already. AND, most importantly, all of my allergy symptoms are GONE! Early in the week I was also experiencing shooting pains down my shoulders, pain in my gall bladder, and had NO energy. All signs that my liver was toxic and ready for a FLUSH!
I fresh squeezed several grapefruits and lemons and added this juice to a mix of dark and light colored olive oil. Over an hour span from 3 to 4 PM yesterday I drank this infusion of oil/juice, and then stayed up in my room all evening. I also put twenty drops of Juva Flex Essential oil blend

on my abdomen right over the liver, and vita flexed in a few drops on the liver portion of my feet. (Reflexology point)

Juva Flex Ingredients: Sesame seed oil, fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis CT 1,8 cineol), Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile), blue tansy (Tanacetum annuum), and helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum).

I took a bath, went out on the deck to do some yoga/deep breathing, and changed sleeping positions a couple times as I felt the oil working it’s way into my system.

After a couple hours I started to pass chaff and a few stones. Then through the evening I passed more and more chaff – This morning I started the day with some Calli Tea, a sunrider cleansing tea which I have used sucessfully for over fifteen years. I also drank some Fortune delight tea with action caps. A few minutes after drinking the teas I passed some large stones, as well as more chaff.
I feel like this flush was a complete success! No more allergy symptoms, (and august typically is my worst month of the year!), and no digestive pain. I believe I easily moved whatever was blocking up my digestive tract with the infusion. I have not eaten any solid foods yet today, but plan to start with some fresh fruit, and later in the day some salad and perhaps a whole grain muffin.

I won’t be able to attend, but will be with these great people in spirit! Praying it will help the truth to come out more fully!

Quote from article:
“The Prozac Survivors group points to Magdalena Lopez as an example of violence caused by SSRIs. The 30-year-old Indiana mother recently murdered her two young sons while on one of the drugs.

At least 80,000 women each year in this country are being prescribed these drugs during pregnancy, according to researchers estimates. SSRIs are still being prescribed to pregnant women even though a May 2005 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association reported that pregnant women who take SSRIs late in pregnancy raise the risk that their babies will suffer jitteriness, irritability and serious respiratory problems during their first couple of weeks.

Leitsch finds it unacceptable that pregnant women and new mothers are still being prescribed drugs that have been known to induce violence and suicide for more than a decade. “In 1991, there was evidence of 500 deaths associated with antidepressants presented to an FDA Advisory Committee hearing investigating Prozac,” she said.”

Quote:
“Doctors say they began prescribing books due to their concern that many patients were either being medicated too hastily or going untreated, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The program, called “bibliotherapy,” is also a cost-saving measure. The state-run health care system in the UK can’t afford one-to-one counseling for everyone, and patients can wait as long as 18 months for an appointment.
The National Institute for Clinical Excellence, a British health agency, endorsed bibliotherapy in December, recommending that physicians try self-help books or other kinds of counseling before medication.
“Concerns about overuse of antidepressants – and about how to treat the growing depression burden in general – have been voiced in many countries, including the U.S., making the British experiment a test case for others to watch,” the Post reports.”

Reading self help books is great – I wrote one – A Mother’s Journey contains all of my tips for helping prevent depression.
But for me the most effective thing I do every day to prevent Depression is to eat Flax seeds. I put a half teaspoon of them into my oatmeal water every morning, and let them boil along with the oats, and then eat them along with the cereal. Flax oil contains ingredients which have helped alleviate my depression. I’m sitting here eating a big bowl of it even as I blog.

Here is the recipe:
Put one quart of water in a pot, add in:
1/2 tsp whole flax seeds
1 tsp sea salt
1 cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves
1/2 c dried cherries
1/8 tsp each of whole anise and fennel seeds
3 whole cardomon pods
Hard boil this for twenty minutes to saturate the water with the oils, herbs, and spices (which all contain powerful anti-oxidents and make the oats taste great). These spices aid digestion, especially the fennel, and really up the nutrition of your breakfast.

Then I fish the cardamon pods, cinnamon stick, and cloves out of the water (it’s no fun to chomp down on a whole clove!) And then I add 1 and 1/2 cups old fashioned oatmeal to the pot. Hard boil for a minute and then turn the heat down to a simmer (low) for about twenty minutes.
I let my kids put as much sugar, cream, and butter on as they want as this helps them chow it down. We polished off a whole pot of Oats this morning, as well as a dozen rye muffins, and a huge hunk of watermelon.
Cost to feed my family breakfast from scratch? About $4.00.
Cost for me to take one Prozac pill back in 1989? $3.00.
Do the math, I’ll keep eating my flax…
