Provident Living

It is perhaps more important than ever before for individuals and families to be prepared for any emergency. I just put together a playlist of a series of videos I made a couple of years ago that have been hosted on You Tube. In these clips I share the contents of our 72 hour kits and take viewers on a tour of our storage room.

The main reason that I decided to become self sufficient with my Mothering was because of end times chaos. The absolute confidence I feel in this hard won knowledge has brought a peaceful quiet to my heart, knowing that if me or one of my daughters was pregnant and the infrastructures of medicine, health care, and birth professionals were out of our reach, we could confidently give birth and mitigate most emergencies because of the skills so aquired.

Below the video are several links to LDS Church Provident Living information. These concise and professionally designed web sites are the best on the web for emergency preparedness information. I also love Emergency Essentials and have been getting their catalog in the mail for the past fifteen years. Go ahead and sign up on their email list and mailing list. That quarterly reminder about provident living is a great reminder to update food storage. I don’t like MRE’s (The militarys Meals Ready to Eat) and so we put together our own 72 hour kits with foods purchased from wal mart, but the ready made kits from Emergency Essentials are a total bargain if you don’t have the time to put together your own kit.
