It has been pure joy to have Michelle and Allison here.
I always get a little weepy and sentimental when one of my children is preparing to leave home. Jeff is making big decisions right now and winding down his life under our roof. He will graduate in the spring from high school. I have used this picture of us taken when he was two in 1996 as the theme for my blog for several months now. He was such a darling baby. He is featured heavily in our family holiday E – Card this year. Highlights include our may trip to Yellowstone, Jeffs court of Honor for his Eagle Scout Award, and the video finishes with the holiday concert at the school december 2011 where Jeff cracked the whip during sleighbells.
I will be back to regular blogging in a few weeks. Right now we are enjoying a wonderful reunion with our daughters.

This morning I created our digital Christmas Card.
It contains our “year in review” video that highlights sports, my trip to Yellowstone with Jeff and Andy, Summer Camping, our daughters leaving for college, and Jeffs Court of Honor for his Eagle Scout Award in Scouts.

My oldest daughter Michelle left home to attend school out of state this year.
I miss her more than words can say. Â She was my daily companion for so long that when she left it felt like a hole was carved out of my heart and shipped over to Utah.
She stayed home these past four years and worked as a Nanny. Â I was very ill and she helped so much with my work of Mothering Benjamin that she is like a second mother to him. Â Ben has also struggled as he adjusted to his Shelly being gone.
The other day I put together a montage of her life as a birthday present.

Paul drove with Jeffrey and Andrew to Utah last week to spend some precious time with his Father, who is bedridden, and the whole extended family, who gather together every other year to Celebrate Thanksgiving.
I stayed home because we didn’t think I could make the trip with my lungs so congested. It is extremely dehydrating to drive over the mountains of Colorado and through the desert of southern Utah. I have done it many times before, but am still recovering from a summer illness. So I stayed home with Benjamin and Samwise and we had a nice quiet week.

Paul has been thrilled by our daughters choice to attend SUU in Cedar City. Jeff was just accepted this past week and we are curious to see if he decides to attend with his sisters next fall. Pauls parents were both professors at the school, and he and his six siblings all attended for undergraduate work.
