Queen’s Gambit, a review by @JennyHatch #MarxistSwill

My son told me about this new series on Netflix.

I am usually loathe to even try something new, book or movie, but I figured I would give this one a go.

I was troubled by the imagery which was mostly Satanic and Cabal (black and white checks everywhere), but by the second episode I was pulled in by the story and the high level of acting.

The filming was top notch and the story arc definitely compelling.

By the final episode I was very dismayed by this girl’s epic level of drug and alcohol abuse, her implied bisexuality, (a scene that depicted her in bed with a woman for the night neither confirmed nor denied), and the blatant pro soviet Russian communist narrative circa 1960’s Marxism.

The drug depicted throughout the movie that gave her the alternate reality voodoo power to win at Chess looked like Prozac, even though it was something else.

By the end of the series I was just hoping it would end on a positive note. And it did with her winning the world chess championship using her honed chess skills and with the help of a gaggle of men back home who helped her in the final moves.

So yes, The Queen’s Gambit was a “feel good” movie.

During this movie impressionable young women were given a female to model who was smart and sassy who comfortably told a patriotic religious group to F off. She was content to forgo their sponsorship when it became obvious they wanted her to win one for team America.

Since this young female had no sense of loyalty or fidelity to the country that spawned her, she instead told the President and his state department official to take a hike while she played chess in Red Square with her comrades.

I suppose this level of blatant open promotion of leftist tropes is what gets the green light from Netflix, but do we have to constantly accept this level of swill in order to have a decent conversation with our children about the media they are consuming?

If you as a patriotic boomer find yourself being told to F off by some young commie american princess, just know she probably watched the Queens Gambit.

Way NOT to go Netflix.

This series brought to you by Eli Lily and the People for the American Way.

Victor Davis Hanson: Why Are Progressives So Illiberal?

This is a MUST READ! Here is the link: https://amgreatness.com/2021/01/31/why-are-progressives-so-illiberal/

One common theme in the abject madness and tragedies of the past 12 months is that progressive ideology now permeates almost all of our major institutions—even as the majority of Americans resist the leftist agenda. Its reach resembles the manner in which the pre-Renaissance church had absorbed the economic, cultural, social, artistic, and political life of Europe, or perhaps how Islamic doctrine was the foundation for all public and private life under the Ottoman Sultanate—or even how all Russian institutions of the 1930s exuded tenets of Soviet Marxism.

Pan-progressivism

To be a Silicon Valley executive, a prominent Wall Street player, the head of a prestigious publishing house, a university president, a network or PBS anchor, a major Hollywood actress, a retired general or admiral on a corporate board, or a NBA superstar requires either progressive fides or careful suppression of all political affinities.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, 98 percent of Big Tech political donations went to Democrats in 2020. Censorship and deplatforming on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media companies is decidedly one-way. When Mark Zuckerberg and others in Silicon Valley donate $500 million to help officials “get out the vote” in particular precincts, it is not to help candidates of both parties…

…In sum, the new tribal progressivism is the career ideology foremost of the wealthy and elite—a truth that many skeptical poor and middle-class minorities are now so often pilloried for pointing out. Progressives have adopted identity politics and rejected class considerations, largely because solidarity with elite minorities of similar tastes and politics excuses them from any concrete concern for, or experience with, the middle classes of all races. The Left finally proved right in its boilerplate warning that the “plutocracy” and the “special interests” run America: “If you can’t beat them, outdo them.”

Self-righteous progressives believe they put up with and suffer on behalf of us—and thus their irrational fury and hate for the irredeemables and conservative minorities springs from being utterly unappreciated by clueless serfs who should properly worship their betters.

A trip down memory lane @JennyHatch

Classmates dot com sent an email today with links to my online yearbooks. I went on a scroll and found a few photos from Walled Lake Central HS 1984, 85, and 86 when I graduated.

I attended 9th grade at North Farmington HS in Farmington Hills Michigan.

Photos included in the collage are my yearbook photos where I sometimes went by Jenny Tripp and once in a while I was Marie Tripp, my middle name.

I played Doris in Birdie and shared the stage with my little brother Rich who played Randolph, my son in the play. I choreographed this show and my little sister Lisa played the sad girl and danced to Put on a happy face with the actor playing Albert.

My two best friends dressed up for PNP day and won most punk. We had a good laugh when they announced Audie as the most punk dude.

My best friend Dave is next to me in the pyramid photo and it was good to remember him today. He died in a car crash when I was in 12th grade.

I sang a solo in my tenth grade talent show. A ballad from the movie fame made famous by Irene Cara. The music from that movie is some of my favorite.

This was a fun walk down memory lane. My yearbooks are boxxed up and I haven’t looked at them in decades, so it was fun to flip through this online version.

Cheers!
