Huge weight gains reported by patients on prescription drugs
“Thousands of people who take prescription medicines for everyday conditions are gaining large amounts of weight as an unexpected side effect, scientists have warned.
Researchers, who found that some patients were putting on up to 22lbs in a year, say that the drugs may even be contributing to the nation’s rocketing obesity epidemic.”
I gained 50 pounds and completely lost my overall health the year I was court ordered to eat the dope of the medical profession. I was given Haldol, Stelazine, Lithium, Prozac, and later in the year thyroxine for my dysfunctional thyroid gland during my year of chemicals.
This chemical cocktail overwhelmed my liver and kidneys and was stored in various and sundry places in my body. Interestingly enough, the year after I came off all of the meds, I gained an additional fifty pounds, so that I was 100 pounds overweight during the time my body tried to de-tox. I have learned that this fat and water storage is the bodies attempt to pull the chemicals away from the heart and brain to keep them safe while they are slowly released from the cells.
My weight has always been 30 pounds more than normal in the intervening 17 years, and at some points I have been back up to that 100 pounds overweight place while my body dealt with various detox situations.
For those of you who believe our obesity epidemic in America is tied to overeating, I would suggest that we have a couple generations of people who have been under nourished and over dosed with medicines.
