We had a nice sabbath service today. Good testimony meeting and I taught my lesson on Jesus Christ. We had a good spirit filled discussion. I especially felt the Holy Spirit witness strong when we discussed the first person account of the Brother of Jared in the book of Ether from the Book of Mormon. He talked with Jesus Christ face to face and has a powerful witness of the divinity of the Lord. This line in particular was good as we discussed the text from the lesson…
“One scripture tells us that long before Jesus was born, he appeared to the brother of Jared, a Book of Mormon prophet, and said: “Behold, I am he who was prepared from the foundation of the world to redeem my people. Behold, I am Jesus Christ. … In me shall all mankind have life, and that eternally, even they who shall believe on my name””
I also taught my sons primary class. Ben is no longer in Nursery! He graduated to Primary today and his class of five three year olds were very excited to be in the big room with all the older children. We had a lesson on the topic “I am a child of God“. Since I just taught this lesson two weeks ago with my adult class much of the material was the same, albeit, shared in a method appropriate for three year olds. We did lots of singing and finger plays. They were a fun group to teach and it made our first sabbath day of 2006 busy, but fun.
Happy New Year!
My predictions for 2006:
I believe Freedom will continue to march around the globe. The American economy will continue to recover in a way that is simply impossible for the media to spin as “the worst economy since 1933” which they always do when a republican is president. Remember President Reagans “homeless”? It was like this non-stop drum beat….Homelessness, selfishness, rich getting richer, etc etc…
I see great things ahead for the country, and I predict the elections in 2006 will go very nicely for conservatives.
I predict that the big all encompassing top down systems in our world that seek to control our lives will continue to be exposed as the enemies to freedom that they are.
And I believe that people by the tens of thousands will come unto christ and be baptized and welcomed into the Kingdom of God.
