When I was six years old my mother was expecting her 7th child.
She had been suffering with varicose veins and a difficult pregnancy. My grandmother had been given six months to live after suffering for 25 years with Rheumatoid arthritis.
My mother and grandmother together decided to take personal responsibility for their health and together they overhauled their diets and changed home life to be more natural.
I had been suffering with allergies and skin problems, and always seemed to have an infection somewhere in my body.
My grandmother discovered a network marketing company that sold health products that I can’t mention on this blog, during this time. The year was 1974 and it was a magical year for the two most important women in my life. My mother finished up her pregnancy eating multi vitamins and Instant protein. She felt an immediate lift during the final weeks of her pregnancy. My grandmother started juicing, eating food supplements, and made the transition to a chemical free home using environmentally safe cleaners.
I remember the day my parents walked into our home after visiting the Berkley Health Food Store in downtown Berkley Michigan. They had purchased cold pressed Hain oils, oatmeal to make granola, and a variety of supplements and foods. Mom started giving us Cod Liver Oil every morning and threw out all the sugar in our home. My parents also purchased a wheat grinder and my Mother started her grain adventures.
We transitioned to all natural dish and laundry soaps and a certain product whose name I can’t mention was our household cleaner of choice. My mom started working a network marketing Business and my parents had our basement finished and turned into an Office.
After a few weeks my grandmother was out of her wheelchair and my mother entered the most proactive time in her kitchen. As a young pre teen I was able to watch all of this transformation and for five years observed my grandmother live a very proactive and healthy live. She quickly became a Coordinator and enjoyed her final years promoting her companies products that I can’t mention, to anyone who would listen.
As a devout LDS Convert she would begin conversations with new friends with the question, “Would you like to discuss nutrition or the gospel of Jesus Christ?” In her mind the two topics were completely meshed together as two of the most important subjects to discuss.
As a young mother I used the products I can’t mention, foods, cleaners, and water purification. All of my pregnancies were enhanced by the multi from this company whose products I can’t mention, as my prenatal vitamin of choice, and can after can of protein. I ate the most Food Supplemtents during Andrews pregnancy. During the final months of his pregnancy I ate upwards of 12 Multi Vitamins a day with a cup of protein every day. He was my largest baby at 11 pounds 12 ounces and he has continued to grow at an astonishing rate.
I made the decision to work a Business in the early 90’s. As the years have clicked by I have come to believe that the home Cleaners are the best! The water purification is also excellent, and I will always have some food supplements in my home!
