Christmas Party

Last night Paul and the girls and I attended our church Christmas Party.
We had so much fun!
Paul had been asked to sing Bring Him Home from Les Mis. I’ll add the video when I have time. He sang it just beautifully!
I was put in charge of the dance portion of the evening, and we had a wonderful forty minutes of our whole ward dancing to some classic Christmas Music. We started with a snowball slow dance. You have one couple dancing on the floor, and then turn down the music and yell, “Snowball”, and they each have to get a new partner. After about seven calls of “snowball”, everyone who was at the party was out on the floor. I loved watching the teens dancing with some of the widows and widowers. I believe that sort of interaction is very healthy. It keeps the generation gap from getting too wide in our congregation.
I organized several contests, and used dance cards to keep the group interacting. Everyone was encouraged to seek partners for the dance cards during supper, which was an old fashioned beef stew, and I gave a prize for the person who had the card filled with the most dance partners. One of our 17 year old boys won that contest. He asked five teens to dance, and then rounded out his card by asking one of our older sisters to dance.

Paul danced with our two daughters during the daddy daughter dance. We also had a mother son dance and several dancing contests, salsa, funky line dance, and swing. I gave out prizes to each couple who danced with the most enthusiasm.
It was a really fun party!
Here is a picture of Paul singing Bring Him Home.

I taught a very simple form of the hustle to our ward members. It was really fun!
