A Man in the audience claimed this:
“What I’m trying to say is;
You Said, What will history show us in the future, and I want my testimony to read that I voted for a man who stands for the Lord Jesus Christ. And you sir, you’re a pretender you do not know the Lord, you’re a mormon.”
The crowd booed the man, and Romney responded chuckling: “Let me offer just a thought, and that is, one of the great things about this great Land is we have people of different faiths and different persuasions. And I’m convinced that the nation does need to have people of different faiths, but we need to have a person of faith lead the country. (Applause and Standing Ovation) Thank You, Thank You.”

Many of my readers know that I am a devout Mormon, married in the temple to my sweetheart nineteen years ago, still faithful to our marriage covenants, and always attempting to live the ideal mormon life with our five children.
One of the most baffling accusations against my people is that we are not Christians. The man who questioned Romney today offered, sadly, evidence that this belief is still promoted and believed.
This morning I went to our Stake Womens Conference at the church, and we had wonderful speakers who testified of Christ, preached of Christ, and taught of Christ while we worshipped together.
The very name of our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, identifies us as followers of Christ. I would challenge anyone interested to go to our churchs comprehensive web site….no, I would make it stronger than that, I would defy anyone to go to that same web site, and find one bit of scripture, prophecy, teaching, lesson, talk, or evidence that we are not christian.
What Mormon detrators may not realize is that the very venom they approach the church with is evidence of its truthfullness. This is a pattern through history that started up again the very second Joseph Smith, our first prophet, claimed to have a personal visit from Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.
Any time a faithful band of christians has established itself during our worlds history, its not long before they were being mobbed, murdered, and publicly scourged. Now wether or not you agree with me that this church is Heavenly Fathers Kingdom on the earth preparing a group of Saints to meet our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during his second coming is neither here nor there.
The fact is, we are devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and it is utter lunacy to claim that we are anything else.
