My friend Kirsten stopped by this morning and we had a lovely chat and took the boys over to the park for an hour of play on the toys and picnic lunch.
She moved to New Mexico four years ago, and we have stayed in touch by email a little. It was so good to have a chance to catch up in person and meet her little son. She is also seven months pregnant and it was fun to hear her plans of a home birth and years of attachment parenting.
I just love talking with friends who share my same mothering style. It makes connecting with them so much easier. She gave me permission to share these photos here on my blog. As a home birthing mother, she is a beautiful and intelligent addition to the home birth community. She told me this morning that our friendship was the main reason she felt comfortable having her first baby at home. Observing my pregnancy with Ben and then seeing the outcome really helped her and her husband make the decision to give birth to Matthew at home. That warmed my heart!
