I watched a portion of this interview on sunday night, and I was struck once again by Senator Feinsteins claim that Americans are “tired” of all of the debate and controversy swirling around our political system. It is obvious she wants to back to the 70’s and early 80’s when conservatives had a few newspapers, magazines, and think tanks. No C-Span, No talk radio, No Rush, No Internet, No Blogs, No Chat Rooms, Few conservatives allowed as professors on college campuses or working as editors/reporters in the media. Mostly total top down control of everything that was heard on the airwaves and the socialists running congress for 40 years.
Ms. Feinstein seems to forget, if she ever knew, the infamous quote by Lady Bird Johnson:
“The clash of ideas is the sound of freedom.”
We need healthy, hearty debate in this country, and if the congress is a bunch of constipated old fogeys who want to status quo, let’s replace them with some dynamic freedom lovers from any and all political parties.
I suppose they aren’t aware of how awful it sounded to have those words spewing out of their mouths when so many of us are still giddy with the excitement of New Media.
Oh Well…..As Rush said on the radio the other day, their cluelessness just makes it that much easier to make the point that Congress is filled with a bunch of people on both sides of the isle who have no interest in hearing from “we the people” and/or being accountable to us when they dump amazingly bad legislation on the presidents desk.
Here are a couple of other insights:

Dean Barnett:
“Let’s talk about why Diane Feinstein is the worst Senator in history. And I’m not just talking about American history. I’m talking Roman history, all the mock student governments in history, the whole ball of wax. I’m also including fictional Senators in this assessment like that really mean guy in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” and that scummy Nevada Senator from “Godfather II.”
Of anyone who has ever borne the title Senator under any circumstances, Diane Feinstein is the worst.”
And Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit Fame has links to the Immigration Bill Roundup.
He also had this to say about those politicians who like Socialism:
“Socialism is inherently boring, which is why its main enthusiasts are “bores themselves” people with high boredom thresholds, like professors and politicians.”

YOu Liberals just SLAY me. I have an idea for ya. Why don’t you round up a bunch of liberals talkers and start your own radio station! Go ahead and throw your ideas out into the marketplace and see if you have any takers.
What????
You already tried that?
Oh, Air America was the overblown, hiped up, “we found all the best people we could”, and even then nobody was interested in listening? At least not enough to make it commercially viable?
Man, what a bummer. Liberal ideology only fits into government systems like public education, public television (PBS), Public Radio (NPR), and in the hallowed halls of congress. Government funding of the promotion of socialism. HMMMMmmmmm.
Hey, I have an idea, why don’t we unfund all of the public funding of liberalism and THEN see what happens to the socialism of our elites. I believe it will go the way of the horse and buggy and the candle and matches when cars and electricity showed up.
Socialism is DEAD!!! Hillary and John Kerry and Barack have not realized it yet, but it is DEAD!
America is a freedom lovin capitalistic country and if we try to mix causes by socializing any more of our society we will slowly choke freedom at its source.
I believe we should end all welfare in America. Corporate welfare being top of the list.
Let the market decide which ideologies and which companies will profit and survive. And let the people decide what they want to listen to on the radio, and on the television, and on the internet.
