My three oldest teens are at camp this week. Allison is a fourth year camper and Shelly is a 7th year Youth Camp Leader.
Jeff is down at the sand dunes with his scout troop. Today they were going to hike up a 13’er, a thirteen thousand ft. high mountain. His scout master is a semi professional mountain climber, so I’m sure they are having a great time.
Allison went on her 4th year hike early this week, and the guy who was in charge sent a couple pics to the parents this morning. I thought I would share one because it showed the majesty of the Colorado Mountains. This is a far cry from my own camping days in michigan, when the mosquitos were fierce and the hike was simply to get in our miles before we headed to the lake for a swim.
The girls hiked for miles and then landed at the camp site in Bailey Colorado, which is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

I’m excited to have Shelly, Allison, and Jeff home tomorow. It has been awfully quiet around our house this past week. I told Paul that if they all leave home at 18, in five years it could just be he and I and our two youngest sons. Very weird to think about.
