I’m saddened by the implosion of the car industry.
I’m third generation Detroiter, with my heart tied in a very real way to the motor city. I have family members who work for the car companies, and I loved growing up in that great city.
Pat Buchanan wrote a piece yesterday asking who killed the auto industry.
And Mitt Romney recently opined in The New York Times that it would be best to just let Detroit go bankrupt.
As a free market proponent, I believe nationalizing the car companies would be about as terrible as nationalizing the banks and the hospitals.
No more bailouts!!!
