I grew up in a musical family. All eight of us were involved in choir, band, theatre, etc… all during high school. Not sports. None of my brothers played high school sports and we rarely watched sports on television.
Paul on the other hand grew up in one of the most athletically minded families in southern Utah.
While I’m not hostile to sports, its just not something I do or watch too much.
But our children have inherited Daddys genes and are tearing up the fields right now. Jeff is on his JV soccer team and these pictures were taken by some parents at a recent game:



He is really enjoying it.

Allison was the quarterback on her senior girls powder puff team. They played one game against the junior girls and it was really fun to watch.

Little Ben is playing rec center soccer. So our life is a whirlwind of practices, games, and meetings for all of these teams right now.
Allison has set the goal to letter in four sports/clubs this, her senior year. And is on track to do it in Choir, Basketball, Track, and Soccer.
I begged, pleaded, and encouraged our three secondary ed children to take choir this year and I am pleased to report that they are all doing it. And I think, enjoying it. But they love to play sports, and it is fun to watch.
I had planned on being a stage mother, but since none of our children has an interest in theatre, it looks like its the athletic booster club for us. It’s all good, I’m pleased they love to be active and involved on church and school athletic teams.
I was just called to be the Cub Scout Den Mother at church. I’ve never done a scout calling before and it will be fun to work with the 7-8 year old boys as Ben moves into the scouting program.
