In 2001 I organized the 2nd International Husband/Wife Homebirth Conference here in my home town of Louisville Colorado.

 

For years the Conference was available on my web site WWW.NaturalFamilyCo.com for $39.00 as an E Video. I pulled that site down earlier this year and not really knowing what to do with the conference videos, decided to just share them for free here on my blog, and eventually all will be streamed to you tube.

 

 

 

The conference was keynoted by Mother of four, Author, and Home Birth Defender Laura Kaplan Shanley and the closing keynote address was given by Mother of six, Author, and Queen of Birth Activism, the late Jeannine Parvati Baker and Rico Baker.

 

 

 

 

Families from California, Utah, Nebraska, and Colorado gathered at the Louisville Rec Center on July 7th for this all day event. In 2008 Lynn, Laura, and I planned to host the third Conference right in the middle of the country in Missouri near Susana Baigs home.  But after discussing all of the issues involved we decided that the money, time, and effort involved in doing a third event would be that much more time and money taken away from our Internet Promotions.  Since this movement has been fueled by Internet Connections in chat rooms, email groups, blogs, and the various web sites dedicated to the promotion of Freebirth, we have decided at this point not to hold a third Conference now or any time soon.  All of us are busy with our families.  I suppose that makes these videos of the second conference and Lynn Griesemers Tapes from the first conference that much more precious, especially since Marilyn Moran and Jeannine Parvati Baker are no longer with us.

 

Please enjoy all of the talks and know that this conference as well as all of our internet efforts are dedicated to the babes who will be born in the new millennium!
