Writing

Boulder%20Mountains.jpg
I continue to get emails from people who would like to “edit” me. One lady said she would be very embarrassed to be me because if she wrote as badly as I do, she would not dream of putting her work on the internet, as it would just be so presumptuous. Another dissed me as being incongruent in my personal life and promoting freedom for others, when I behave as a dictator in family life. I’m not quite sure what she meant, but all I could gather is that my writing made her angry.
Some emails are from good friends just sending along a friendly FYI – hey did you know you mispelled this word? Or, what do you know, you got this link wrong….or perhaps you missed this, and would prefer to say it another way?
I don’t really mind those types of emails, I know these people love me and just want me to put my best foot forward.
Others send along more snarky toned emails letting me know that I used bad grammer, or hacked up an idea with bad wording etc…
What I would like to explain and have understood by you my readers are the conditions under which I write. Not to excuse myself for a lack of excellence in writing. More to let you know that I am doing my best, and for now, that has to be enough.
I generally write under the most intense of conditions. Children running through my home, dog barking, phone ringing. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines…no, not for blogging, but to keep my life working well. Have to get Shelly to work by noon, pick up Allison by four, and Jeff to the chiropractor at five. Supper on the table at 5:30 so the kids can be out the door by 6:00.
Get to bed early, so I can wake up early…but never seem to fall asleep before eleven because somebody in the house needs me. I go all day long….laundry, dishes, cooking, shopping, disciplining, teaching, encouraging, and helping.
I know other writers are able to do all this and more and still take the time to do a grammatical check or spell check. I don’t. I figure if I spell it natural or naturale, you still get the meaning of what I am trying to say.
I am not a writer. I don’t have an editor, proofreader, assistant, or secretary. I don’t get a check every two weeks, and I don’t have any advertisers on my sites. Over the years I have enjoyed writing letters to the editor on a variety of topics, and I wrote my books because I had something to say, and now I blog because I like to share the good things in my life, hopefully to help someone have an easier time as a mother, but also because I love to share what I have learned from 18 years of mothering.
Sammy.jpg
As I said, I am not a writer, I am simply a mother who happens to write. So, as I make excuses for my style of writing which tends to be somewhat stream of conciousness and not very well put together, just know….the dog is barking, Ben is asking for a peanut butter sandwich, a friend just called inviting me to go to the park, Jeff is teasing somebody, the girls are arguing with me about chores, and Andy just ate the last cookie (piece of bread, apple, chip, cracker…that kid is always hungry) and everyone is mad at him.
Andy%20on%20the%20rocks.jpg
Andy on the rocks at Table Mesa Trail in Boulder
This is my day to day life. I am a blogger, and I know my writing would never be copy for a major newspaper, but for now, this is what I have to offer.

72 Hour kits

Chat at Free Republic – (Some of these posts are exceptional!)
Jenny%20Hatch%20with%202%20gallons%20of%20water%20and%20food%20pack.jpg
Today the children and I re-did our 72 hour kits.
I was going to wait until the fall to put them together. I like to do this every year after camping season is over. With girls camps, scout camp, and our family camping, inevitably the kit is often rummaged through to find various camping tools. So, in the fall I find everything and put it back together and put it in a location in our home where it is easily accesible in case we need to evacuate because of an emergency.
But yesterday a High Priest from church called asking if I would teach priesthood a week from sunday. I taught a food storage class in the elders quorum a few months ago, and everyone in our stake is talking about provident living because our Stake President has requested that the whole stake get 72 hour kits put together, and put in a three month supply of food.
So, with this class coming up, I thought we would just go ahead and get the supplies and put them together.
Here are a few pictures. I purchased everything at Wal Mart:

Why Wal Mart? It is the most economical store to get everything you need to buy.
Early on I believed that I could only get emergency supplies from stores like Emergency Essentials and American Family and it is true that if you want pre-packaged 72 hour kits and certain supplies like gas masks and potassium iodine, you will need to purchase them from these suppliers.
But the thought of eating MRE’s, which I think are gross, or those nasty food bars that have a five year shelf life completely disgusts me, and I know my kids won’t want to eat them. I have this image in my head of a mormon meeting house filled with members, and everyone sitting around munching on those stale food bars and after about five hours getting really sick of eating them.
So, instead of buying a pre-packaged kit and letting it sit on the shelf for five years, we instead have a yearly 72 hour kit party where we eat the old food and replace it with new food. Because we eat mostly home made food from cooked from scratch, it is fun for my kids to eat foods like Beef A Roni, Beef Stew, or Chunky soup.
Today I purchased six entree meals for each person in our family (42 individual meals for lunches and suppers – each cost about $1.25). Foods like Cambells chile in a pop top microwave bowl, and a bunch of Hormel entrees. While these foods taste better heated up, they can be eaten cold, and need no refrigeration or can opener to get them open. In the early 90’s I bought a family kit from Emergency Essentials of MRE’s and let them sit in our basement for a couple years. Then I decided to replace that food and pulled them out for us to eat. No one would eat ANYTHING. The crackers were stale, the meat tasted terrible, the peanut butter was gross. I had to throw it all away. At least if I purchase these ready to eat meals at the grocery store, I know that eventually I can feed them to my family and the money will not be wasted.
I also bought tons of baby wipes, which can double for toilet paper and give a quick sponge bath, as well as anti-bacterial wipes that could be used to cleanse any surface that has been contaminated.
I bought boxed milk and beef jerky, as well as crackers, cheese in a can, peanut butter and jelly, cookies, and power bars for snacks.
I also bought canned fruit for breakfast to be eaten with instant oatmeal and granola bars.
Granted this food will only last a year or so packed away in our kit, but we do this every year, and so minimal waste will happen and most of the food will get eaten.
Once last year I was low on grocery money and was wondering what to do to supplement our food storage. And I remembered! 72 hour kit! Where I keep a stash of cash and some snacks for the kids. I pulled it out and all my worries just slipped away. Not a tragic emergency, just life, but our life was enhanced by having the supplies ready to go. I replaced the used cash and food the next time we had a paycheck.
The purpose of a 72 hour kit is to be a bridge for an individual or a family between an emergency and help arriving. To determine what supplies you will need in your kit, use your imagination to determine how life will be for you if you are out of your home and living in a shelter, perhaps at the local high school gym, or in a church, or just out in the open.
You will want some comforts, the most important of which are water, food, and shelter.
We have a huge kit, with tent, sleeping bags, camping gear, cooking equipment and lantern, as well as our shot gun and ammo. I have one large water bottle for each child, a back pack filled with food, one change of clothing including sweat pants which can double for jammies, toothbrush and other toiletries, scriptures, coloring books and puzzle books for bored children to play with, psychological foods like candy, suckers, and gum. I also have gas masks and chemical masks for the whole family, ponchos, hiking boots, and a few supplies to help in case of chemical or nuclear terrorism.
My prayer is simply that if something does happen, we will not have to evacuate our home. One tip I heard was that if it was cold and the power was off, you could set up your tent in your living room and have the family sleep in it together for added warmth. In a shelter situation a tent would provide a measure of privacy and safety even if it was pitched indoors.
The first years of our marriage we did our kits in laundry baskets, and gradually moved to back packs found at garage sales and thrift stores. As the years have clicked by, I invested in quality water bottles and food packs that are cold/hot safe as well as lined with hard plastic. This gives a tremendous amount of protection to the food being smashed or crackers broken.
My biggest mistake in regards to 72 hour kits came about eight years ago when I purchased a 55 gallon water barrel on wheels to put everything in. I bought a couple of those 2 and a half gallon water bottles from the grocery store and put the water at the bottom of the garbage can. I then loaded the rest of the supplies on top of the water. I had things like canned tuna and soup, as well as crackers, peanut butter, and some camping supplies. The whole can weighed a ton and was happily sitting in our basement for a year or so when a very noxious scent started wafting from it. The cans had settled on the water, punctured them and the crackers etc…were sitting in a pool of water just rotting.
It was such a huge mess to clean up and just about all of the food was wasted, cans rusted, etc… I decided to dump the whole garbage can idea, and go to backpacks and suitcases on wheels with extremely high quality water bottles.
One of the things we do all the time is keep four cases of water bottles in our car. We also keep the car filled with at least a half tank of gas. I purchase the water bottles at Sam’s Club for about five dollars each case and this provides multiple gallons of water in case of emergency. Water which is in small containers which are easier to melt in case of cold, and are constantly being used by everyone in the family, so the water does not go bad. In the fall when the weather gets cooler, I keep some food out in the car, but I have had several food containers explode in hot cars – like the large bottle of peanut butter stashed in our old van that decided to explode on a 100 degree day, or the granola bars that got bugs in them.
As the years go by, and you learn by experience the best foods to buy and the best way to store the supplies, you too will learn what to do and what NOT to do as you make these sorts of preparations.
The main thing is to just have something for your family in case of an emergency.
Finally I would like to mention that the number one thing most families wait in line for after an emergency is in fact plastic diapers and baby formula. Today I purchased three cheap bottles, two pacifiers, and a case of ready to use baby formula. Why? As an ardent breastfeeding mother, I know that stress has a huge impact on my ability to produce breastmilk. In a stressful situation I can think of nothing worse than a screaming baby and me so stressed out and dehydrated that I cannot produce anything for my child to eat.
So I keep baby formula, plastic diapers, and pacifiers in our kit, at all times, even when I do not have a new baby. I remember reading that when hurricane Andrew hit in the south, the lines for plastic diapers and formula were a mile long in certain locations, and the American Military was being used to pass out these supplies to families who had none.
I believe if everyone would put in those crucial supplies wether they have a baby or not, we will be able to help the most needy in our population survive any sort of disaster until help arrives.
I would encourage all breastfeeding mothers to consider these ideas and even if the thought of purchasing some formula is nauseating to you, it could truly help your child in the event you were not able to make breastmilk. Babies can get dehydrated so quickly! Keep your family safe by putting in the needed supplies to help.

UPDATE:
Paul took the boys camping last night and taught me the folly of my ways in setting up the kit before the summer camping season is over. A wholesale raiding took place as they packed the car for the trip to Carter Lake.

Paul was happy to stack all of the food packs high up in our front hall closet where I cannot reach after the campout.

Here is a picture of my kit with a gallon size water bottle. I love these bottles because they can go in the dish washer for sterilization purposes, and they have a strap on them. We have a gallon size bottle for both Paul and I, and the children have the half gallon size. Water is VERY heavy to carry and so it is nice to have the shoulder strap.
Food%20with%20gallon%20size%20water%20bottles.jpg
Here is a picture of the food in my kit. I bought six entrees to serve as lunch and supper for three days. I also have some other snack foods. I NEVER buy this sort of food for everyday use. It is simply too expensive for our large family to eat this way. But it is perfect for our kits, and when august comes and Mom pulls out the kits for everyone to eat, it is party time at the Hatch house!

Jeff with his whole kit on his body. The point of the system we use is to make it so a twelve year old like Jeff can carry all of his food, water, gas mask, and supplies without an adult helping. This is crucial if a child gets separated from his parents. Jeff has all of his own important identifying information on him, with his own water, food, clothing, and supplies. If for some reason we are not able to be together, I know that if he has his kit, he will be just fine until we are reunited. We also have a designated place where our family is to gather in case some sort of an emergency happens and we cannot be home.

Snow%20Suit.jpg
One spring I bought these snow suits at Wal Mart for the whole family. They were having some crazy sale and I bought them for ten bucks each. The suits are great, they can be used as a sleeping bag and act as extra insulation over coats. One of the things I have done over the years as we have accumulated equipment is to look for sales at the end of the season – winter stuff in spring and camping gear at the end of the summer. We have bought most of our stuff really cheap, and much of it is second hand. We go to Savers thrift store every couple months and I am always on the lookout for used hiking boots, back packs, sweatshirts, and bedding that is designated as just for the kit.
It is important with growing children to pack clothing that is too big for them, as they will certainly grow throughout the year. Pack clothing that is two sizes too big. I always pack extra underwear and socks and lots of mittens, hats, and scarves.

Letter From Ann Blake Tracy – Andrea Yates murdered children while taking Effexor

Rusty%20Yates.jpg
This post is dedicated to Rusty Yates, husband of Andrea, and all of the family members of those who have taken Anti-Depressants and had horrific consequences.
God’s grace was with our family while I was on the court ordered psychiatric drugs 17 years ago, and we did not have to deal with the extra ballast of criminal behavior and it’s consequences as the Yates family has. Since 1989 I have not takent one pill. And we have happily welcomed four additional children to our family. Tom Cruise is right, nutrition and natural healing, gentle exercise, and quiet living are what heals and prevents emotional distress….not chemicals.
The very thought of my sweetheart, lover, best friend and eternal companion Paul being blamed for any wacky, suicidal, homicidal, or just weird behavior while I was taking anti-depressants is absolutely horrid to even contemplate. He has been the very reason I was able to work through all of my issues and come through mental illness and make it safely to the other side into wellness.
Rusty Yates has been the whipping boy in the press and in people’s minds for far too long. All of that rage thrust at the poor man should be squarely shoved right at the Big Pharma companies that have had quite a ride on the backs of innocent people for the past sixteen years.
In her latest letter Ann Blake Tracy said:
It is LONG past time for the world to learn what has happened in this
tragic case!
Those who accompanied me to Houston were Amy Lubrecht from Ohio whose
husband Michael drowned their one year old son while under the influence of
Effexor, Jay Baadsgard, from Washington state, whose son Corey, while under the
influence of Effexor, held his class at gunpoint for 45 minutes and five years
later still has no memory of doing it, Antonio Ortiz, whose fiance shot and
killed her twin boys while withdrawing from Zoloft and starting Paxil, John
Marsh, from Texas, whose son Paul killed his best friend while under the
influence of Paxil, and Jurgen Viktor, whose son Jared, after only six days on Paxil
together with his girlfriend on Prozac stabbed an elderly friend 61 times.
All of us were there to let Rusty and Andrea know that they are FAR FROM ALONE
in their drug-induced nightmare. This is going on nationwide – worldwide and
needs to end.
But before I go on I want to make it VERY clear that I am SICK AND TIRED of
the press beating up on Rusty Yates!!!! Rusty is an incredible human being
who has stuck by Andrea through all this in spite of losing all five of his
children. Who can even begin to imagine the pain and suffering he has endured?!
Andrea has not even had a chance to endure it because they have kept her so
completely drugged up since that day.
But Rusty has had to face the reality
every day without his entire family. They are all gone. Where is the compassion
for this man that should be there? He could not have seen this coming. He
was not a professional. In a similar case in Utah a father was arrested for the
murder of his family after his wife stabbed and bludgeoned their three
children and stabbed herself to death while withdrawing abruptly from two of these
antidepressants mixed with a steroid. Of course the father was found not
guilty and it was determined that the wife did this, but he spent four months in
jail after losing his whole family. What horrific ordeals for these
fathers!!!
The fact is that Andrea was the third nurse in a three month period to go to
court for killing her children while on an antidepressant. The other two
were married to doctors. One in Illinois on Zoloft killed two and one in
California on Prozac killed her three sons and shot herself in a suicide attempt.
Then in the middle of Andrea’s first trial a female doctor in Illinois on
Effexor stabbed her two sons, killing one and seriously wounding the other. Then
in the middle of this second trial for Andrea a young mother in Ft Worth, TX
on Zoloft drowned her one year old son. That is only to list a few.
Wyeth added the “homicidal thought” side effect to Effexor due to
PRE-marketing data – in other words they knew that homicide was possible with their
drug BEFORE they ever marketed it. That would involve premeditation on the part
of that company, would it not? Why would they be granted any more slack than
the rest of the population? If they knew that Andrea drowning all five of her
children was possible with their drug, why did they not disclose that? AND
if they knew that, WHY is Andrea the one who was on trial for murder? Just a
few questions to hopefully make us ponder which direction we are going in this
drug-induced insanity. [Keep in mind that this drug company is the same
company who cursed the world with Fen-Phen and Redux – how many people did this
company kill with those drugs?]
These horrific antidepressant-induced murders are happening all around us
every day. This is why reading our local newspapers anymore is more like
reading news from a war zone than what we used to know as the America we used to
call home. What I have witnessed over the past 16 years is enough to blow
anyone’s mind. In fact I have had reporters at Court TV ask me to stop telling
them about a case because they could no longer stand to listen to the graphic
details (and that was only after sharing two which they had asked me about!).
But after three Zoloft murder cases by young people back to back on Court TV
the reporters are even asking out loud on the air, “What is this with kids and
Zoloft?” These antidepressant-induced cases are very violent and very much
out of character cases that leave everyone shaking their heads.
The truth is that these drugs are much too similar in action to LSD or PCP
and the scientific research to show that is clear. Would anyone have been
surprised at Andrea’s actions to learn that someone had been secretly slipping
her LSD or PCP every day? Of course not!

EFFEXOR/HOMICIDE
ANDREA FOUND NOT GUILTY & OUR VISIT TO HOUSTON LAST WEEK
By now most of you have heard that Andrea Yates was found not guilty by
reason of insanity today. Last week you all heard that there were six of us from
ICFDA who went to the courthouse in Houston for a press conference in support
of Rusty and Andrea Yates and also to publicly ask that the warning of
“homicidal thoughts” which was added to Effexor’s label last November, to be added
to the labels of ALL antidepressants.
Here is Dr. Tracy’s testimony to the FDA explaining how the drugs cause people to become violent…
Dr. Ann Blake Tracy’s September 13, 2004 to the FDA
I am Ann Blake Tracy, PhD, head of the International Coalition for Drug
Awareness.
I am the author of Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare and have testified in court cases involving antidepressants for 12 1/2 years.
The last 15 years of my life have been devoted full time to researching and writing about SSRI antidepressants.
Research on serotonin has been clear from the very beginning that the most damaging thing that could be done to the serotonin system would be to impair one’s ability to metabolize serotonin. Yet that is exactly how SSRI antidepressants exert their effects.
For decades research has shown that impairing serotonin metabolism will produce migraines, hot flashes, pains around the heart, difficulty breathing, a worsening of bronchial complaints, tension and anxiety which appear from out of nowhere, depression, suicide – especially very violent suicide, hostility, violent crime, arson, substance abuse, psychosis, mania, organic brain disease, autism, anorexia, reckless driving, Alzheimer’s, impulsive behavior with
no concern for punishment, and argumentative behavior.
How anyone ever thought it would be “theraputic” to chemically induce these reactions is beyond me. Yet, these reactions are exactly what we have witnessed in our society over the past decade and a half as a result of the widespread use of these drugs.
In fact we even have a whole new vocabulary as a result with terms such as “road rage,” “suicide by cop,” “murder/suicide,” “going postal,” “false memory syndrome,” “school shooting,” “bi-polar” – every third person you meet anymore – along with the skyrocketing rates of antidepressant-induced diabetes and hypoglycemia.
Can you remember two decades ago when depressed people used to slip away quietly to kill themselves rather than killing everyone around them and then themselves as they do while taking SSRI antidepressants?
A study out of the University of Southern California in 1996 looked at a group of mutant mice in an experiment that had gone terribly wrong. These genetically engineered mice were the most violent creatures they had ever witnessed. They were born lacking the MAO-A enzyme which metabolizes serotonin. As a result their brains were awash in serotonin. This excess serotonin is what the researchers determined was the cause for this extreme violence.
Antidepressants produce the same end result as they inhibit the metabolism of serotonin.
These are extremely dangerous drugs that should be banned as similar drugs have been banned in the past.
As a society we once thought LSD and PCP to be miracle medications with large margins of safety in humans. We have never seen drugs so similar to LSD and PCP as these SSRI antidepressants.
All of these drugs produce dreaming during periods of wakefulness. It is believed that the high serotonin levels over stimulate the brain stem leading to a lack of muscle paralysis during sleep
thus allowing the patient to act out the dreams or nightmares they are having.
The world witnessed that clearly in the Zoloft-induced murder-suicide of comedian Phil Hartman and his wife, Brynn.
Connecticut witnessed the Prozac-induced case of Kelly Silk several years ago. This young mother attacked her family with a knife, then set the house on fire killing all but her 8 year old daughter who ran to the neighbors.
As she stood bleeding and screaming for help she explained, “Help! My mommy is having a nightmare!”
Out of the mouths of babes we will understand these nightmares for what they are. She understood that this was something her mother would do ONLY in a nightmare, never in reality.
This is known as a REM Sleep Behavior Disorder. In the past it was known mainly as a drug withdrawal state, but the largest sleep facility in the country has reported that 86% of the cases they are diagnosing are patients on antidepressants.
Because this was known in the past as a condition manifesting mainly in drug withdrawal you should see how dangerous the withdrawal state from these drugs will prove to be. That is why it is so critical to make sure patients are weaned EXTREMELY slowly so as to avoid ANY chance of going into a withdrawal state.

Mark Taylor’s September 13, 2004 to the FDA (first boy shot at Columbine High School)
I am Mark Allen Taylor and I am a victim of the SSRI antidepressant era. I took six to thirteen bullets in the heart area in the Columbine High School shooting when Eric Harris on Luvox opened fire that now infamous day.
They almost had to amputate my leg and my arm. My heart missed by only one millimeter. I had three surgeries. Five years later I am still recuperating. I went through all this to realize that SSRI antidepressants are dangerous for those who take them and for all those who associate with those who take them.
I hope that my testimony today shows you that you need to take action immediately before more innocent people like me, and you, do not get hurt or die horrible deaths as a result.
As Americans we should have the right to feel safe and if you were doing your job we would be safe. Why are we worrying about terrorists in other countries when the pharmaceutical companies have proven to be our biggest terrorists by releasing these drugs on an unsuspecting public?
How are we suppose to feel safe at school, at home, on the street, at church or anywhere else if we cannot trust the FDA to do what we are paying you to do? Where were you when I and all of my classmates got shot at Columbine?
You say that antidepressants are effective. So why did they not help Eric Harris before he shot me?
According to Eric they “helped” him to feel homicidal and suicidal after only six weeks on Zoloft. And then he said that dropping off Luvox cold turkey would help him “fuel the rage” he needed to shoot everyone. But he continued on Luvox and shot us all anyway.
So, why did these so called antidepressants not make him better? I will tell you why. It is because they do not work.
We should consider antidepressants to be accomplices to murder.
Articles that Dr. Tracy sent along to her email group on the Andrea Yates Trial:
Anti-depressant warning may help Yates
05:49 PM CDT on Wednesday, July 5, 2006
By JANET ST. JAMES / WFAA-TV
AP
Janet St. James reports:
Andrea Yates’ treatment for post-partum depression played a big role in her first murder trial. Now the pills she was prescribed for depression may be the key in her second defense.
The FDA in November quietly ordered a safety labeling change for Effexor XR, a warning that in rare cases patients will experience “homicidal” thoughts.
Harris HEB psychiatrist Cathal Grant has been treating patients for depression for over 20 years.
He says many doctors probably don’t know the warning has been added to Effexor. But this extreme side-effect doesn’t surprise him either.
“Anyone who’s suffered from severe depression will know that it can cause anger and irritability at times, and there are a certain percentage of those people who may be homicidal,” said Dr. Grant.
Most anti-depressants do warn of side – effects including suicidal thoughts, hostility, aggressiveness, and manic reactions. Homicidal thoughts are not on any other anti-depressant labels, we could find.
Still, the vast majority of people take the medicine safely. Defense attorneys will no doubt argue Effexor’s new labeling could prove Andrea Yates did not.

Teen fights for rights of self determination – Go Abraham Go!

Abraham.jpg
No doubt you have heard the story of Abraham.
The story seems to be picking up steam. Yesterday I was listening to the Glen Beck talk radio show and the host asked 12 people to call in with opinions on wether the state or the parents should make this medical decision. The vote was 10 for the parents and 2 for the state. I was really pleased to hear those calls live on the radio.

Interview with Abraham on Hannity and Colmes
SEAN HANNITY, CO-HOST: A few weeks ago we introduced you to 16-year-old cancer patient Abraham Cherrix. Now after a painful and debilitating round of chemotherapy, Abraham and his parents decided to pursue alternative medicine.
But just last Friday, a judge ruled that Abraham must go to a Virginia hospital for treatment and declared his parents neglectful for allowing their son to pursue therapy that included an organic diet, herbal supplements, all supervised by a clinic in Mexico.
Now, Abraham will have to report to this children’s hospital tomorrow afternoon to receive his court-ordered treatment, barring a last-minute action by a different judge tomorrow morning.
Abraham Cherrix joins us now in this exclusive interview since the decision to compel treatment. Also joining us, his father, Jay Cherrix, and their lawyer, John Stepanovich.
Welcome, all of you, to the program.
Abraham, first of all, you went through chemo. It didn’t work. It nearly killed you. You wanted an alternative and you found one. Correct?
ABRAHAM CHERRIX, CANCER PATIENT: That’s right.
HANNITY: First of all, I know I speak for this audience. We want you to get well at the end of all this and you shouldn’t be having to be fighting this in court.
A judge is compelling you to go to a hospital and receive therapy that you don’t want to receive, chemotherapy tomorrow. Have you decided what you’re going to do?
A. CHERRIX: Yes, I have. I’m not going to receive chemotherapy, no matter what. This is my body, the body that God gave to me and in the Bible it says for me to take care of this body. It’s my temple.
And I believe strongly that I have the right to take and do with my body as I please to do with it, because if you don’t — are not able to do with your body what you want to, then you have no rights whatsoever.
