Yesterday it was my joy to spend a couple hours with two homeschooling Moms who introduced me to doTERRA Essential Oils. My friend Heidi knew of my love for oils and took the risk to call me up and ask if she could share and spend some time in my home. I suggested we head over to the park so the children could play while we talked. With eleven homeschooled little ones ripping around my small house, I did not think we would be able to visit.
So despite the cold we headed over and spent an hour sniffing oil bottles. I have been a Young Living Essential Oilsdistributor for the past fifteen years, and have used a variety of brands since I bought my first bottle of Lavender at a health food store when I was a teen back in the 80’s. I had informed Heidi that I would only give her an hour of my time as I was skeptical that any oil could be better than my beloved Young Living brand. Frankly, I was more interested in spending time with other Moms who share similar interests than I was in learning about this brand of oils.
But I opened the bottles and started sniffing and used a few drops of Peppermint, Lavender, and the balancing oil blend on my skin. I immediately knew that these were an excellent addition to my arsenal of natural family living products and was thrilled to learn of the Family Physician Kit of oils that they have put together for parents to use around the home. I have long believed and taught on this blog that Mothers hold the key to wellness for their children. And with powerful therapeutic oils on hand to aid in wellness, I understand that any company that takes the time and energy to create quality products deserves to have a chance.
This morning I spent an hour clicking around the web to see what sort of garbage was being said about doTERRA and Young Living as competitors and was not surprised to see that a variety of blog posts and controversies were blasting around the web for all to see. As I told my friends yesterday, there is enough room in our world for a couple hundred essential oils companies, and I look forward to the day when that is the case.
If a group of people decide they want to add products to the marketplace and provide some healthy competition for those who are selling similar products, that is what the American Free Enterprise System is all about.
Now does my choice to become a doTERRA distributor mean that I am going to start dumping on my beloved Young Living and never again use their products? No. I look on this choice as simply learning more, enjoying more, engaging more, and widening my circle of friends and colleagues. I intend to make the steps to become a distributor next month for doTERRA.
I have long believed that parents are groomed to ask the wrong questions.
When a child is sick the question should not be, “Pink Antibiotic or White Antibiotic?” It should be Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, or Thyme?
When a child is being born the question should not be, “C Section or Walking Epidural?” It should be What type of birth would be ideal for this baby and this mother?
I organized the second Husband/Wife Homebirth Conference back in 2001 and as we closed down the Conference an interesting thing occurred. As Jeannine and Rico were giving the closing keynote address, a blast of lighting hit right as they said the words “Medical Profession”, and the lights in the room went out. It took several minutes for the pandemonium that ensued to quiet down and as the final portion of the conference closed down…It left all of us feeling quite jumpy. In the above video I referred to the incident as the conference was ended. Then I followed by saying that an inclusiveness is what is called for when considering the debates between Allopathic (drugs and surgery birth) and the other forms of childbirth.
I believe this inclusiveness is also important when considering the questions of how best to heal our children when they are ill.
I don’t care if others vaccinate, but millions of dollars have been invested in educating the public that I as a non vaccinating mother am a menace to society and a threat to my children.
I don’t care if doctors and midwives don’t approve of my choice to give birth at home alone, but some of them seem to be extremely upset by the supposed threat that Homebirth, Lotus Birth, and Empowered Natural Mothering is to their profit streams.
I don’t think it is just the money that is tied to birth that upsets the profession, I believe it is also the questioning that takes place when those doctors and midwives who have been carefully indoctrinated in the birthing status quo at school engage in when they are confronted with the reality that a group of parents do not want to purchase what they have to sell.
The doctors and midwives have literally piled up hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt betting on the status quo of a 99% monopoly over birth when they set up Obstetric and Midwifery practices, and the idea that the vast majority of parents could potentially birth children alone is simply noxious to their world view and plans for a prosperous professional life.
And it is this reality of a Birth Monopoly and a fixed income stream from hospital birth that is extremely threatened by anything new or different.
I believe an inclusive approach to healing and wellness is what will save humanity from the foibles and folly of current medical insanity around birth and healing.
As doctors and midwives begin to explore the wonderful world of essential oils for healing and open their hearts to the reality that home birth is a viable and safe option for many families, hopefully they will come to learn that trusting Mothers and consumers to make wise choices for the health of their families will ensure a bright and healthy future for all of us.
Doctors and Midwives may not make the buckets of money currently tied to medical birth and drug and surgery healing, but we will all benefit from a more holistic approach to life and health.

UPDATE: Since the time this post was written in November I have closed down my Young Living business and am working doTERRA, they have a better marketing plan, more generous compensation, and a very dynamic group of leaders.
This Edition of the Magazine is focused on the whole Gardasil Debate that has taken place these past few weeks since Michele Bachmann made an issue of it in the last GOP Debate.
Since the Gardasil conversation is one that for me goes back to before the Vaccine was even put on the market and I have some skin in the game in the form of serious blowback on me and my family for speaking out against the mass vaccination of the worlds preteens, it was pure JOY to watch this debate be thrust more fully into the spotlight because of the courage of one female candidate for President.
Most people cannot comprehend an evil so complete that it would presume to deprive future Mothers of the ability to create a healthy child because side effects from vaccines are so devastating that they murder, maim, and make impossible for a woman to get pregnant in the first place.
Yet since the 70′s the wicked in our world, some tied to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute have been hell bent on finding the ways and means to sterilize both animals and humans without surgery. President Obamas Science Czar John Holdren wrote about the need for a vaccination that would sterilize women in his book Ecoscience.
Citizens of good will cannot even fathom that these Eugenics Purists would quietly go about the business of making it happen, yet they have, and many of us who have been screaming about it on the internet have felt the repercussions from standing in the way and trying to disrupt the “Genocide by Injection” currently taking place around the world. Many of the articles, posts, and conversations that are a part of this edition of the Magazine are tied to this reality.
I also had the great joy of interviewing Barbara Hartwell and Jonathan Elinoff on my radio show the week of the ten year anniversary of 9-11. These outspoken and hard working activists have a far different take on the events of September 11th than the average American, and I felt it was important to give them some time to explain the reasoning behind their views.

My friend Becky had an eight pound boy at home last night. She asked me to be available to help with her three older children if she gave birth during the day. But since she gave birth at 2 am, I was not able to attend. While I would have loved to be around just to feel the energy and spirit of a homebirth, it felt right that this most sacred and gentle of moments take place quietly, without too many extra people hanging around. And so this morning as she proudly shared pictures of Her son on Facebook, I felt joy and peace that another blessed child had made it safely to the earth into his parents hands.
For the past six years I have relentlessly debated Vaccines on this blog and on the web, mostly at Free Republic but also at the personal blog of the late Cathy Seipp, (who I believe was a paid shill for Drug Companies), as well as the comment sections of her articles at National Review Online. Cathys Blog no longer exists, and her archive at NRO is spotty in regards to finding the posts where she unilaterally pushes the vaccine on teens. The old chats at Free Republic are still on the web, but the trackbacks to my blog no longer function because I have been hacked so many times.

Since I started writing this blog in 2005, one of the main goals has been to help families get to the root cause of illness. I was a vaccine damaged child and feel that my life was altered because of a bad reaction to my inoculations. I have struggled with lifelong DEADLY chemical and food sensitivities. With more runs to the ER than anyone in the family, I have been one big histamine storm after another since I was two. Asthma, Allergies, and skin problems were and are my daily struggle and although I have been greatly aided by my willingness to cleanse my liver and gall bladder and use alternative healing as much as possible, I still struggle with asthma and allergies.
I just went into my stats and realized that most of my top posts, in terms of traffic, for the past few years are all tied to vaccines. People are looking for this information and want to educate themselves with the facts. I thought it might be a good idea to link to my top twenty five posts to make it easier for you the reader to find this information. With the debate raging in the Blogosphere over gardasil this past week my traffic has jumped exponentially and many new visitors are coming in for a look for the first time.

This is perhaps the most insulting claim against home birthing Mothers, that we are somehow putting the “experience” of childbirth over the health and well being of our children.
It is a tired and pathetic claim and at the risk of insulting just about anyone who has chosen to have an epidural, does ANYONE at all believe that a Mother who requests every possible pain relieving drug an OB can offer is thinking about what is best for her child while she gives birth?

I let them decide when this needs to happen and never push them to do more than they feel they can accomplish.
I was so pleased with the efforts of Michelle Bachmann during the latest debate and her interviews with the press around the whole Gardasil issue that I wrote up a couple of comments sharing a few links and blasted around the web looking for news sights and blogs where I could post without being a member.
The people at Free Thoughts blog took issue with my comment and we shared a nice, thoughtful friendly chat in the comment section.
…MUST be worth an indictment, Right? Somebody going to jail? Or at least being arrested and tried for crimes against Humanity? Or at least the deaths of these People?
Somebody needs to be held accountable…Rick Perry might know who those somebodies are.
PS Why is it that these people ALWAYS get a pass and nobody ever goes to Prison for these murders? They pay off the families with blood money and gag them up after the settlement and life goes on…
One of the most fun things I did over the past few days was read hundreds of the hilarious tweets that came gushing onto that hash tag like so much water busting from the sky during a hurricane.

The other day Andrew stayed home from school. He has been adjusting to an intense schedule. Early Morning Seminary starts at 6:10 am (This is a religion class for LDS teens that takes place at our local church every morning an hour before school begins), then to school, then soccer practice, and now he has soccer games two or three times a week. He has also continued his landscaping job a few hours a week and has been helping to care for a neighbors yard while they were out of town. With church attendance and never ending church activities, (teen dance on Saturday night), and scouts on tuesday nights, he has been busy!
I could tell he was getting overwhelmed on sunday and he was showing classic signs of dehydration and illness by sunday night. I was not surprised on monday morning when he requested to stay home to sleep. I have a different philosophy on this topic than most Parents. I believe it is wise to allow a child to stay home and rest and rehydrate rather than force them to school and tell them to suck it up and be a man. On Monday he had an away game for Soccer, and while I do not like him missing a game for an illness that was not serious in nature, if he had done his normal schedule, I have no doubt that the illness would have been shoved deeper into his tissues, thus requiring more time down the road for healing…
