I slept fitfully last night, was on C Span 2 Radio almost constantly from the beginning of the speech until the end just now. As a confirmed Tea Party Twitter Warrior I wanted to stay up all night, but I have been ill and could not do it. So proud of my Utah Senator Mike Lee and in awe of Ted Cruz. I have learned over the years that a great deal of moral confusion exists in the minds of many young Mormon Mommies regarding the whole abortion debate.  It is nearly impossible for these pseudo feminists to go to the place in their brains that would require them to accept that a Genocidal Agenda exists around Planned Parenthood and the various Feminists arguments for abortion in our society.  Just today Life Site News published an article sharing the fact that Planned Parenthood has claimed credit for “shaping” Obamacare. 

January 9, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In a recently released report, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) claimed credit for helping to “shape” the Affordable Care Act signed by President Obama this past March.

“In the latter half of 2009 – in what will surely be remembered as a pivotal achievement – Planned Parenthood worked with its supporters across the nation to help shape and pass the Affordable Care Act,” wrote PPFA President Cecile Richards and PPFA Chair Valerie McCarthy, in a letter published as part of the organization’s 2009-2010 annual report.

The women credit their organization’s “tireless efforts” with the passage of a law that “expands care to millions of women and protects women’s access to essential reproductive care,” and promise their supporters “a promising new era of health care.”

According to many pro-life activists and religious leaders, however, what the “new era” touted by Richards and McCarthy promises is an end to conscience rights for Christian employers and health care providers, and an outpouring of government funding for abortion.

A 2010 statement released by the National Right to Life Committee details multiple ways that the legislation opened the door to such funding.

Supporters of the law, however, have denied that it allows for government funding of abortion services. In a statement released on the one year anniversary of the law’s passage, PPFA said that it opposes the Act’s abortion-related provisions, and would throw its weight behind an effort to liberalize those provisions still more.

According to Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser, the recently released report confirms the need for a renewed effort to completely defund the organization.
“Despite an unprecedented effort by statewide and federal leaders to defund them, a wave of former employees willing to testify against them, and uniform agreement amongst Republican presidential candidates that they should be defunded, Planned Parenthood continues full-steam ahead,” she said in a statement. “They are unwilling to answer to the pro-life American majority that wants out of this business.”

American Taxpayers do not want our money being used to abort the children of America.  And we are just one sneeze away from the economic conditions being in place for the government to start calling for forced sterilizations simply because we “can’t afford” the children.  I am completely on board with the idea that society cannot afford to fund Single Motherhood.  But I would hope that most thinking members of society would take the leap in their own minds and understand that an ideological undercurrent of thought around forced abortions and sterilizations is very much a part of the thinking of those who crafted Obamacare.

Sometimes I come across a topic I want to know more about and start reading everything I can get my hands on. One recent interest was abortion providers. I wanted to learn why someone would choose this line of work given the violence and persecution they face. I first read Suzanne P. Poppema’s book Why I Am an Abortion Doctor, followed by Susan Wicklund’s book This Common Secret: My Journey As an Abortion Doctor. The writing in both books was so-so, but the stories were gripping. During my searching I also read a lecture by Dr. Garson Romalis, also titled Why I am an Abortion Doctor. I just finished the book Dispatches from the Abortion Wars: The Costs of Fanaticism to Doctors, Patients, and the Rest of Us by Carol Joffe and am still wanting to read more….

I remember reading a book during my graduate student years by a sociologist (or maybe anthropologist?) who spent time with both pro-choice and pro-life groups and explained the worldviews and values of both camps. I can’t remember the title but it was really interesting. Any more recommend readings on this topic?

* Dr. Wicklund mentioned that, ironically, one goal of abortion providers is to work themselves out of their job by helping women avoid unwanted/unplanned pregnancies in the first place. But the challenges are immense: lack of access to health care and contraception, partner sabotage of birth control (including threats of violence for using birth control), our hyper-sexualized yet hyper-prudish culture, etc

I am sad that you have drunk the universal health care koolaid. Obamacare is about to unleash a Chinese style of Health Care in America where Mothers are routinely sterilized after one birth and babies will be forced to be aborted. (Murdered).

The UN has been extremely vocal about their desire to set up the Chinese Model all over the world.

That being said I am all for Early Abortions being safe and secure for those women who have been the victims of rape and incest, as a survivior of both I would like to know that the option was available for others who may have conceived during the assaults. Thankfully I didn’t.

I want to challenge you to conduct some research on the depopulation agendas of the g

lobalists. It would be nice to have your strong voice speaking out for parental rights regarding how many children couples can have.

Sorry Jenny Hatch, I totally don’t buy that all. A) “Obamacare” isn’t universal health care and B) it is not at all going to mandate sterilizations or forced abortions. Whoever’s making these claims (Fox News anyone?) is just flat-out wrong.

I am not scared of universal health care and think it would do this country an enormous good by spreading the costs more evenly and allowing everyone access to services. I can say this because I have lived and worked in France and often used health services for the students we were responsible for. I am also married to a Canadian who longs to go back to his home country and have access to its health care system again. In both countries, you can buy into a private option if you wish. But most people stick with the public option. Anyway this is a whole different can of works. Not going there today.

Michele Bachmann

Michele Bachmann dropped out of the race for the Presidency.  She gave a great speech yesterday and outlined the reasons why she ran.

I endorsed her early and loudly in every sphere of influence I have, and am grateful she took the time, energy, and spent the money to run.

She put the words Crony Capitalism into the political debate, and that is something that has needed to be done for decades in America.
